Default Baseline 2012 Cayenne Turbo Dyno results

Hello all,

The other day I decided to take the Cayenne in for a quick dyno to get some baseline numbers before I start modding. The car is 100% stock running 92 Octane. It was around 77 degrees and pretty dry.

The dyno was a Mustang AWD at ECS Performance in Windsor Locks, CT. Paul the owner performed both runs. Paul and his crew were great, very knowledgeable and professional. They were even able to tap into a vacuum line to capture boost pressure for the runs.

The car was strapped down by the control arms and loading level 1 was selected. The car was in Manual mode, sport mode, trac off and 5th gear.

For first run the car was running pretty hot especially towards the end of the run. They had 1 large fan blowing directly centered to the car. I was shocked with the numbers. I was expecting in the low 400hp but instead got a nice 452 hp and 461 ft-lbs corrected.

For the second run they added a couple more smaller fans blowing and we let the car cool down for a good 15 min and tried again. This time the results were even more impressive 470 hp and 511 ft-lbs!

The results far exceeded my expectations, almost to the point that I am skeptical. I bought the car from the 2nd owner around a year ago. He definitely never did any mods. And I recently got a PCM and Transmission update from the dealer. I am told that even if I did have a tune it would have been wiped by the upgrade.

What do you all think? I plan on doing either a GIAC or Cobb tune, 3" exhaust w/2nd cat bypasses, IPD Plenum, and BMC air filters. I would be happy with 600hp at the crank.

Wow! Congratulations! Would also love to know if you have a freak of nature or is this common numbers? I have a 12 CTT stock with 36k miles.

Do they have other CTT runs in their database ?

Comparing the results obtained on different dynos is very tricky. They will in most cases show different numbers, sometimes as much as 20%.

Just make sure you do the pre/post dyno runs on the same dyno, preferably on the same day.

I'm guessing by 'corrected' you mean BHP, not WHP (which would make sense, given your numbers).
What driveline loss ratio are they using to come up with these numbers?

Elberoth,
They did not have any other Cayenne's in their database.
I plan on doing another set of runs on the same dyno once my mods are complete.

Pastorom,
Corrected was referring to the weather correction the dyno performed which was a 1.053 correction factor.
Typical drivetrain losses are ~20% which would put my truck at around 564hp and 613lb/ft at the crank.

That seems ... high, right? Isn't the 958.1 CTT rated at 500HP/520 lb-ft at the crank? I know the germans love to underrate their cars (BMW is a prime example), but this seems like a lot, especially for a vehicle that's 6 years old at this point.

I'm not doubting the veracity of the results - more amazed, in fact. Especially since you mentioned there are no mods on there!

and Mustang reads 10-12% lower than a Dynojet on average too!

All the figures are straight off the dyno so they are HP and Torque at the wheels.

Good post. Surprisingly I haven't seen more dyno results from the CTT's. I'm looking forward to seeing your next dyno after you get the Tune added on.
