Default Picked up my new/used 958.2

600 miles at an avg of 80 mph, 100 reserve.

2015 CD.
So glad I picked a CD as a replacement for my 2010 Audi S4. The S4 is a hell of a car, giving it to my Dad for upstate NY, and was worried they were hard shoes to fill. What a vehicle it is, I am so happy. It pulls fairly hard, gets great MPG, and rides awesome. I picked up my 15 CD in Atlanta this morning and got home in 8.5 hours, doing over 80mph most of the way, 600 miles total. Had 100 mile range left, what a ride! I did not put the RC chip in as I was having a blast. Mine has the fix, and I felt it drove fine. I hit 122mph as a cayenne hybrid came up in GA, south of Atlanta, and we had some fun. Both black on black cayennes. Took me a hundred miles or so to turn off the heated steering wheel. It pulls well and I will put the tune in tomorrow and report back on the race chips tune ASAP. They put new Goodyear’s on, full service, a full tank of diesel, so thanks Nalley BMW in Decatur, GA. As a reference, I paid $42K, has most everything except the bags, 41K miles, I feel I stole it. Oh ya, the child locks were on. So when I went to change into relaxing clothes in the back seat, and tried to get out, I wasn’t. I was lucky to get out! Lol. Rick.

I put the Race Chip tune box on Sunday morning, I thought it was on zero (0) which is no effect, but it had been set at 5. So driving to work was just an easy drive, a couple pulls for an idea of the power before I turn up the RC tune. So at lunch, went to turn it to 1 and it is at 5, so made some pulls with my dash command anyways. I will have to do some runs at 0 and then start at 1to see the effect. Highest setting is 7, I hope to feel some difference. I got 34 mpg avg just as I pulled into work at around 23 miles.

I went to the Porsche dealership to register my cayenne for Car Connect and touch base with Braman Porsche for service. I guess my CPO goes until December 2022, and the drivetrain until dec 2024! So, that was good to hear. Saw a sweet Cayenne S by KPBI, and a really sweet GTS.

Welcome aboard! Beautiful car - love the rims.

I have racechip Throttle Booster but haven't tried the tune. Tell us more about it as you drive it more. Some of us tried blue Spark, a competitor, and many of us sent it back as it caused our cars to run rough. If racechip works well, seems like that will be my next mod.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The Race Chip tune runs perfect, no issues from what I have seen from driving on it. I would like to get a baseline being stock, and then go from there. I will definitely post my results ASAP. From what I have felt, it definitely spools the turbo up faster and seems to pull harder. Rick.

For sure, I will be looking for you! I work down at FlightSafety on the airport, but actually live on Indiantown, right near the bridge in JL. Your Cayenne looks awesome, great shape. Rick.

I put a hitch on the back until my Bully bumper arrives later this week. Made a few runs at lunch, best time so far with a little power braking to build boost. It was close to 89 today, so a bit warm. More runs to follow.

Default 42,000 miles on 4 June 2018

At work, nice and clean.
I went thru 42K this week, and really enjoying the diesel. Fun to drive, comfortable, and lots of tq.

Trying to keep it clean as possible, but it is tough right now. Poured hard coming home on 95 today, glad I was in the CD.

Default Race Chip testing

0-60 testing with Race Chip tune.

Ok, did some quick runs at lunch in 87 degree weather. First run is zero setting which is stock, then continued up through the tunes. Those are best of two runs on each tune, so the last run, the CD was definitely heat soaked. So a 7.5 run on tune 6 seems legitimate as I had done over 10 runs pretty much back to back. I am gonna try some 60 to 100 mph runs soon to see if there is a tune difference there. This is power braking to build boost runs. Driving home in a down pour was so nice in the CD, no worries and so comfortable.

Good choice in vehicles. The CD is perhaps the best long distance highway car I've ever driven. The seats hold you comfortably for hours, the ride is engaging and you don't get sleepy driving it. On open, empty roads, it cruises in triple digit territory. I too hit one twenty or so, only it was on a long uphill stretch. It wanted to go faster. The thought of the fix is a bit sickening, but it sounds like yours is a gem. I usually trade out of cars after 3 or so years. We'll have owned our CD for 5 years this November and we still love it. Congrats and enjoy it.
