Default PCM version on a 2012 958 CD

Hey guys

Does anyone know how I can find out the PCM version on my 958 CD?

The car is bought from a used-cars dealer and it's on the other side of the country )

Below is a crop from a spec-sheet I received, where I can see some software versions, but google turns up nothing but spare parts if i search those numbers.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

When you get the car it will be displayed in the menu.

The latest PCM version is nice to have, as it brings in the missing clock feature to the main PCM screen.

I'm still to upgrade mine.

Well...I could get the salesperson to have a look if someone could explain where the version can be found. Or maybe post a picture...

Getting above version 3.1 means replacing the unit altogether?

Your 2012 should be PCM 3.1. As far as the system version, you need to check that on the PCM by hitting “Info” + “Option” + “System Version”. You should then get a screen that shows which version of the software that you have:

PCM 3.1 is just a model name. No way to upgrade to higher PCM model.

What you can do is to install the latest software version for your PCM 3.1.

So the facelift (2014-2017) still has PCM 3.1? Or an upgraded version that does not physically fit the 2011-2013 model?

Anyway...here is the picture from the salesperson. Is this the last version available?

I remember a while ago that complaining to the dealer about bluetooth issues would get them to update the PCM for free. I dont remember any of the details. But you never want to pay Porsche to do anything you dont have to. They have no shame when it comes to putting a price on something.

Hmm...the PCM unit seems to be the same in shape / size... they changed it only for the facelift.

So...I suppose mine could be upgraded to version 4.76 too?

That could be done if the car is still under warranty...unfortunately...mine is not.
