Default MPG thread, if you care......

Just returned from a Ski/Board trip and was pretty impressed with my total Mpg for the return trip. I wasn't going to hypermile the trip home but when I saw 27mpg on the computer, I was like, "Ok, lets see what I can get.

Made two stops, one for a little food and another for a bottle of water and no fill ups at all. Left Mammoth with 3/4 of a tank.

Post up your mileage. This was on a 2011 Cayenne Turbo

I often see similar mileage (24 mpg) on my long trips. Being able to get 500 miles per tank is awesome, that allows me to drive to CO with only one fill-up.

I never thought I could get that over a sustained period of long flats, inclines and declines. Such a great car.

Funny as I was just thinking of posting my mpg from today.

2016 Cayenne Diesel. My two kids, 6 and 8 and all our snowmobile gear in the hatch=full.

Full tank of fuel, no less than 75 mph on the highway with a lot of 80-85 mph and I had averaged 27.8 on the highway and 29.2 from the fuel station to home. Incredible how good the MPG's are, never mind how sweet the Cayenne is on the highway at speed. It is one awesome handling truck.

Man, the diesel is the way to go. That's incredible.

Side Note: didn't mean to put anyone off by the title. Only wrote it in because most of us didn't buy the car looking for the best mileage.

As I get to know my Diesel, I have found it loves all speeds <60...there I get ~33 (yes even at 30-50 mph). If I drive over 70ish, it drops to high 20's. If "someone" were to drive over 90, it would get 24-25.

Averaged 29.4 on a 4 hour trip today - all highway.

What amazes me most is city...I get about 25! Ridiculous...

I find it easier to hit 22-24 on "short" 300 mile trips..

My average for last 13,000 miles is 16.8 ('13 GTS) which includes 6-7 long trips but a LOT of hooning as well

Still impressed by the MPG on my Cayenne S. Driving around town and its not good, not bad, but certainly not good. Get it out on faster roads and I get 20+ without an issue. Get a sustained speed over a distance and the MPG jumps to 24 almost without fail! Seen as much as 26 on steadier runs. Thats amazing given the crap fuel here in California and the performance of the engine. Still impressed.

^^ If i don't pay attention to how I'm driving, then I too would get between 16 and 18mpg. I made a conscience effort to hypermile the trip and ended u with a staggering 24mpg. I was impressed.

Am I the only one that drives in sport mode all the time????

CTT...all city...all sport mode. I'm lucky to get 300 miles on a full tank. I think I'm 11-12 mpg. And that's calculating by hand using actual miles / gallons. The trip computer seems to be way too generous.
