Default Coolant leak - slow*

Hi Guys.....

So I have a coolant leak from driver side ...

I had to add 1l over 3 days ....
I parked car for now until I fix ... lucky for me it never run dry there was always little in the expansion tank.

My guess it that its the "bridge" at the back of cylinder.

If I drop just transmission ... can I remove it, I would rather not drop the whole sub-frame with engine. Any ideas ?

Thx

I have my top of the engine torn down to do the pump and tstat. To me it looks like you can remove the rear bridge with special sized tools while the motor is in the car. I don’t see where it would be hard to get it out.

Thank you!

You think so ? Is there a decent access to side pipes going in to the distributor ?

Have you removed HPFP debating on how much I will have to strip it down.

I confirmed today that it is the bridge/distributor

It backed out about 1cm that's why the leak is slow and not instant failure...

Any other things that I should replace while there ?

I will weld the pipe and I will remove the thermostat housing and I will weld the pipes there too.

I'm still debating on dropping transmission and rebuilding transfer case at the same time ...

Cheers,

I think I may be having the same issue as you NDX. Can you post any pics? Can the vehicle be driven in this condition if you are careful to keep coolant levels up? I have a CPO and a service appointment for this later this week but prefer to avoid some catastrophic failure. Dealer is about 10 miles away.
