My New 958 2012 CS
Hello. I just acquired a 2012 Porsche Cayenne S in beautiful Auburn Metallic. I also have a 957 CS silver, that I will be getting rid of. It has been a great work horse over the years. Still runs great and strong too. The 958 CS is a whole different car although I think the engines are the same or similar. Car is a high mileage car and I am the 3rd owner. First owner worked for Porsche in Palms Springs and was in sales so the high mileage130k plus. Car was purchased at Liberty Lake Porsche (not a nice dealership from my direct experience). Then all services done at Porsche Palms Spring even after warranty til 11/2016. Second owner lived in Colorado and wife drove car til she got a GL Merc. 2nd owner was retired Marine so he was very honest about the car. I did full research on the car and also spoke to service techs at Palm Springs Porsche and Liberty Lake Porsche. Managed to put together good history with Carfax and service records. Car arrived last Wednesday, a day early. Great shipping company. I would recommend them and will use them for the Porsche Parade this year, when I'll ship my C2S. Well the car is at my local tech (Redline Porsche, James is top notch), getting all fluids changed, compression test, computer diagnostics and a good looking at. I also checked it out myself too. Here are some shots before it goes to our PCA club concourse detailer next week:
North Shore 911 recommended some really good exhaust tips I have ordered in Tit Black as my car has the Gloss Black package. I'll also be ordering the tailgate gloss black trim.

Very nice, I like the two tone interior. With that many miles, did the service records ever show a transfer case replacement? Interested to know, as I just bought a 2011 with 115,000 miles.

ugggghhhh!!!! I just got the Tags for the car yesterday. Last night my wife and I went to Subway around the corner. Parking lot was full (subway next to a nail salon). This morning I went into the post office for about 30 seconds. Early this morning I was showing the car to my
neighbour Ted. We looked all around the car. So later today I was lifting the hatch and saw this:
I am beyond madd. I was only in the post office for about 30 seconds, Subway my wife sat in the car while I went inside. I am thinking some jerk at the post office backed into me and kept going. Can this be buffed out or do I need to call my insurance (which i put on the car this morning!!!!).
OMG. The car was going to be in the wash and shine at the Zone 8 concourse at the end of the month

What a bummer. Almost looks like a garage door got lowered on it with the vertical wipe marks. I've seen similar on the wife's Toyota.
If the light colored flecks aren't the base coat then it will probably buff (mostly) out.

Thanks Tom, the car is Auburn Metallic base coat. No garage doors as only had the car 2 days and it's been outside in the driveway.

Sorry about the scratches.. hate when that happens to a "new" car..
The direction of scratches are a bit odd. They are vertical in nature.
Do you have power lift gate? Are you sure your wife didn't open the lift gate on a garage or a place with low ceiling?

Yes I have the power lift gate. My wife doesn't drive and the car has not been kept in the garage since I got it.

If you have never been in a low garage, I'll bet the car was parked next to a wall or beam in the rear, and the button to release the lid was pressed so it opened, hit the wall/beam and scuffed upward until it stopped. The marks look just like concrete, not smooth from another car impact. Only way that would happen!
