CAYENNE RECALL - Bad Variocam Bolts
#166
Zero relationship and it's a recall not service campaign.
lucky me I have oil changes records from INDY!
and yes it's a recall - http://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca/Saf-Sec-Sur/...&pg=0&lang=eng
not sure why they want records but that's what Porsche requested and I will provide but I will make sure to include rant about whole situation.

Don, you had posted info on that Campaign in the past & I grabbed the info to ask my dealer about my June 2012 build,.. which did not need it. And it's not using oil, so I'm good.
I also recall you posting a WC55 too (which might have been for high oil consumption).
And then there was also the Service Bulletin SB-76-12 that allowed the oil separator to be replaced under the Emissions Warranty.
That's all I have from those old posts. You've forgotten more than most of us know. Lol.

Update! Seems as though I was correct....
My service advisor gave me my daily update today, which didn't jump right to about my car as quick as usual.
They installed the HPFP, and were still having running issues. This was diagnosed to be "cam issues" though they said the bolts weren't failed... I don't really know how that works, but OK.
They said they logged some data, and had to send it to Porsche engineering, as they will have to approve the release of the parts due to their scarce availability. When the parts eventually come in, they will do that, run some more tests and if the HPFP is showing to be problematic, they will be installing a new one, and the bill will be covered by Porsche under the recall, as it's a related part being driven directly off the camshaft.
They've been VERY good on regular updates as to the status of all of this, and will let me know as soon as they find out anything (and as soon as I know, I'll update on here) but said in the mean time to enjoy the Macan.
There's worse problems I could have, I guess.

Dealer was supposed to receive new camshaft's acutators on Friday.
if they are right and car has no bent valves etc ...I should have it later in the week.
hopefully this will be it
So far dealer has been amazing.
