Default PTV and PDCC tell tale signs on 958? S GTS Turbo

Hello All

I have searched this and other forums and have not been able to get a clear answer on this

I even went to the dealer and both my service advisor and sales person couldnt find any information on how to find out if a car ('13 GTS in my case) has PTV or PDCC

Does anyone have a clue on how to confirm if a 958 has PDCC and/or PTV?

The easiest way is to run the vin: https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...-from-vin.html

The sales person I can understand - but the service adviser can look up your vehicle on Porsche's VIN# database in about 10 seconds and get a listing of what your truck has on it.

Or - you can look under the hood for the PDCC reservoir (look in the owners handbook for the location, IIRC - it's up near the power-steering reservoir.)

Why would you not use Porsche's own decoder? Seriously!

Can't you just look at the sway bars also? I can't believe the service adviser is that useless.

My understanding is that the centre console switches for sport comfort etc are in silver for vehicles fitted with PDCC and black for those without. It also has PDCC printed on that part of the switch block. I'm looking still and it is the first thing I look for in pics. Surprising in Australia how few cars had PDCC optioned. Also surprising the number of people that claim the car has it, when clearly they don't.

Compared to

The black vs silver is significant.

As I'm relatively fresh to the 958 market, I've been through every one of the posts in that thread. Porsche took down the functional links. Vindecoderz.com is the only one that still works, and that is from one of the last few posts in that thread.

Unless your actively watching the market and comparing models, you likely wouldn't be aware of this. So, uhhh now you are

This is the case for the 957 series, but not the 958s. There is no internal label or anything else designating a vehicle has PDCC in the 958s.

As mentioned by others, either a VIN decode or visibly looking under the hood for the PDCC resevoir next to the powering steering one are the checks you'd have to do with a 958.

I've tried every link on that thread on my iPad, and either it requests a username/password, leads to a blank page, or is a dead link with the exception of the vindecoderz.com. But if you have a working link directly from Porsche, thats great... please share

Sorry to have derailed this thread off topic....

So back to it, I've seen some 958s with the "comfort/normal/sport" vs "sport/sport plus", I assumed that had something to do with the PDCC.... am I mistaken?

What you're describing there is the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) system (adjustable dampening of the shocks), a separate system from PDCC.

PASM can be added as a separate option without PDCC. However if I'm not mistaken, PDCC requires both PASM and the air suspension options.
