Anyone with experience as to if 19" rims will give sufficient clearance for a 2011 958 Turbo with PCCB?

I'm thinking of getting a dedicated set to use for a few months over winter for driving in Tahoe.

The factory 19" rims JUST clear the caliper on the standard turbo brakes (390mm rotor) - I believe the PCCB rotor is 410mm - so 19" might be an issue. 20" should be fine.

Thanks! I was thinking 20" to make sure I have no issues.

Now the search starts to find a set of used wheels.

For tires, seems most people are going with either the Pirelli Scorpian Ice & Snow or Bridgestone Blizzaks, with some opting for Hakkas. Also saw Pirellis Scorpian Winter but wasn't sure what the difference was to the Ice & Snow.

Yes, 20” is the minimum for PCCB equipped 958s.

Thanks guys. Do you think I'm cutting it too close with 20s then and should stick with 21s?

Just addressing tires as we do not have PCCBs.
For winter we use Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8s. The new studded model are the Hakkapeliitta 9s. Have also heard good things about their tires w/o studs too. Driving an off-road rally thru snow and ice we were paired with two Ford Raptors. After one run they said they were trying to lose us but we were pushing them. For off-road and endurance rally we have 18" rims on our 2013 diesel. Love the low end torque and range - especially as we have no intent to get the 'fix'

Deep snow is no issue for them either

i was looking at a set of 20s off craigslist. I have a 958 CTT with PCCB and they are from a 2006 955 and are:

Cayenne 955/957
20x9
et60
275/40R20

Would they work for me? Seller is quite helpful and said the 958 spec per a website is as follows so the offset is 3mm different:
Cayenne 958
20x9
et57
275/45R20

He thinks alll Cayennes from 2003 through 2017 use the same bolt pattern (5X130mm) and
center bore size (71.5mm)

I've got 19" winter rims on my 17 GTS that has the same larger rotors & red calipers as the Turbo.

They don't "JUST clear", they CLEAR the caliper... there's no "JUST" caution involved. 19" fit perfectly fine over 390mm rotors and are factory spec'd as being suitable.

With PCCB 20 or 21 are your factory choices. If you don't have the PCCB yellow caliper brake and carbon rotor setup you do not have anything to worry about using 19, 20 or 21" rims.

For the sake of anyone else reading, here's what the different kind typically look like.

It's entirely possible for a previous owner to have upgraded or even downgraded from one kind of brake setup to another. It's also possible someone decided to paint rotors a color different from the factory choice. But the PCCB rotors are very different looking from regular metal rotors. You can see it from the outside (assuming the rims allow seeing the rotor).

I'm running Bridgestone BLIZZAK DM-V2 on my 12 CTT with PCCB, 275/45R20 I've run these tires on my Tundra and Sequoia and they are fantastic. I figure that the cost of a set of winter tires on the CTT as well as my BS is worth not have my cars in the body shop. Yes you still need to look out for the crazy winter drives out there but they have saved me a couple of time. So the investment has been well worth the cost.

Dalema,

I just picked up my new CTT from Colorado, and I live in Austin TX - Factory 21" Sport II's with brand new Pirelli Scorpion Winters on there, and I have absolutely no need for winter tires. I may just buy some aftermarket wheels & summer tires, if you're open/interested in a 21" winter setup PM me!

Never say never. I've had the experience of an ice storm in Austin. Though, it's not like you'd have enough advance warning to make the tire swap.

Haha touche! I have a 4x4 Silverado shop truck with M/T's that gets me around in rainy/bad weather though, summer months (March-November is Summer down here) are when I drive the CTT the most.
