If you go from Sport wheel to MF wheel, I guess the display interface column lever on the lower right is just a bonus? Or you would have to replace a bunch of parts to remove that lever like an original MF car that does not have it. Seems not many people go this route - Sport to MF. I have no interest in heat.

No adapter necessary unless you want to get the 958.2 updated wheel.

I want to change the wheel in my 958 to a Multi function wheel. Have seen a few MF Steering wheels on fleabay. Will they be straight plug in or do I need to add a module?

I did exactly that on my 2011, sport to MF, detailed in another thread. It requires some coding, but no adapter for same year wheel.

How difficult is the coding? Do we need a dealer to do it or is there a hack?

All that's needed ishttps://gpsadapter.us/products/stmv1] https://gpsadapter.us/products/stmv1[/url] to go from a .1 to .2 if you already have MF
No MF it will need to be coded in

If that works it makes it so easy. Any issues or bugs? I thought I remembered an issue where the steering wheel volume button wouldn’t work.

It's plug and play on the 958.
I have done (4) 997s those require coding and a newer factory module

Default Heated steering wheel upgrade

Hello all. I'm new here and am looking for some help.
I just bought my wife a Cayenne S 958 and as happy as she is with it, she'd love a heated steering wheel. I have read as many threads as I can and I'm getting a lot of conflicting info. Some say it's plug and play and some are saying that it's nothing but a hassle with error codes, this or that doesn't work. I found a great steering wheel on eBay and it is same color, (Luxor beige and even has the wood trim that's throughout the car but not on the wheel..) I don't want to wind up with a bunch of problems so my question is, what clock spring do I need to make this work? Do I need a different clock spring? And if so, what part number? Again, I've read as much as I can and am at a stand still.

Thanks.

To add heat you absolutely need a different clock spring unit, as the non-heat clock spring does not have a connection for the heater plug. You also need an activation code from the dealer to be programmed, or you can get one from our Russian friends and program it with a Launch X431, maybe other high end scanners. I've definitely seen threads on this, so keep looking.

Hello everyone,

I have a Cayenne 958.1 with basic steering wheel (no controls, no heating) and I want to know what is needed to retrofit the 958.2 steering wheel with controls.
From what I understood from this forum, I need:
- clock spring from 958.1 with MFL controls
- 958.2 steering wheel with airbag
- activation code for MFL controls
- GPS adapter
- coding

Is that all, or am I missing something?

Thank you in advance.

Just to confirm, for those who have 958.1 currently with a MF wheel including heat, the upgrade to 958.2 is
- plug and play
- using the adapter found here https://gpsadapter.us/products/stmv1
- this steering wheel from Suncoast https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/991LEAG2GT.html

No airbag, coding or clock spring required?
