Best 958 Cayenne Turbo mods for under 1k? Under 2k? Under 3k? Under 5k? <10k?

I'm working w/ the guys at EvoMS. They have apparently cracked the encryption on the 2011s and want to use my CTT as a testbed. I will have the same tunes already available for the other years - however, currently, I guess few (or nobody) is able to ECU tune the 2011s. Evo will have first crack at it at first availability (couple weeks). I'd drop it off tonight if they were free but they are sadly booked up solid. :/

Question:
I have a 958 CTT (2012). W/R/T Hanks products.... So I understand that I could go with either 2.56" O.D. -or- the 3" bypass pipe,.. but if I was NOT going to replace all the rest of the exhaust pipe (out the back), would it not be advisable to just stick with the 2.5" bypass?
In my case (keeping my mid-pipes & muffler), I would think that from a flow perspective, I would not want the exhaust gases to expand within the short distance of the 3" bypass pipe,... but rather stay within a 2.5" diameter pipe all the way out the back. Just asking.
TIA for the advice,
=Steve

Perfect. Thanks for this clarification Michigan.
somehow a previous poster led me to believe that 2ndary cat pipe was 2.5". I am very happy to hear that it is 3". I have not crawled under there to measure mine myself yet. I am sure once I get to the point (where my warranty has expired, and wife is out of town long enough), I'll measure again just to make sure,... before making the purchase. This will be a DIY for me.
Thanks again.

Just an FYI, I contaced IPD in Fall 2014 regarding the IPD Plenum for my 09 CTTS. I was told they no longer make the plenum for the Cayenne. The machine that shaved the metal would apparently break a plenum 5-6 out of every 10 made and it because too costly. I am not 100% sure this applies to the plenum for the 958 (Mine is a 957), but I believe their email suggested they stopped making the plenum for the Cayenne altogether.... BUMMER I was really hoping to get some extra HP out of that upgrade too...

getting full fabspeed performance system, BMC filters, sec cat bypass, mufflers.. not sure what the gains will be but been informally informed by others that should be about 50hp~ish; on a 958 CTTS; which should bring it in close to 600hp
sounds decent on the videos, but will find out later this week..
any one with a similar system and thoughts on the exhaust note?

quite impressed.. this package def makes it 'feel' like its more free flowing, better throttle response; sounds amazing.. al the videos dont do justice to the sound..
i think the bmc airfilters add more benefit than originally thought..
