With regard to the oil leaks, I think the relevant language in the dieselgate extended warranty booklet should cover them. Specifically, page 11 says “Additionally, the engine long block warranty shall cover the engine sub-assembly that consists of the assembled block, crankshaft, cylinder head, camshaft, and valve train.” If PCNA is trying to dissect what is covered and what is not, maybe should contact the original plaintiff attorneys and let them be involved. They were the ones who negotiated the terms of the settlement.

Oil leaks are covered, as I've had a few fixed since this whole thing started... The tricky part seems to be the definition of a "leak", as I went back and forth with one dealer who called it oil "seepage" and not a leak. Potato potato...

To keep from burning bridges at the last Porsche Dealership in the state I went along and let them put some "tracing powder" to see if they could locate anything... This was before the COVID crap, so it was well over a year before I took it back to have them check their powder. By that time there was enough oil on the underside for them to finally deem it a "leak" and fix it.

He said the rear seal and timing cover gasket are covered but not this. What a load of $hit!!!

I called PCNA and complained and sent pics to them by email of oil leaking all over the ground. I told them I would be happy to share the pics with the EPA proving they were not meeting their obligations set out in the court settlement.
So, what has been the outcome? Just curious

what was the outcome?

The outcome is basically an F-you response from Porsche!!!

Dear Mr. Russell,

I hope this email finds you well. We rely on our authorized Porsche dealerships as our technical resource. Unfortunately, this matter has been deemed final by the dealership and by PCNA. There is no other avenue of recourse that can be taken at this point that will change the result of the outcome. Thanks for being a part of the Porsche family.

Respectfully,

My response this morning……

Chloe:

So unless I am missing something here, this means the documents you are distributing to your customers are false and misleading. I would like an explanation as to why the repair is not covered, which is contrary to your warranty booklet.

If PCNA won’t help me I will take the story to social media. They should be ashamed of themselves over this.

Thanks,

Ted

Reminds me of a joke:
Pilot writes in aircraft logbook "#2 propeller seeping prop fluid"
Mechanic checks aircraft and notes in logbook that "#2 propeller seepage is normal"
Pilot responds "#1 #3 and #4 propellers lack normal seepage..."

Normal drive mode is designed to be the most economical. Sport mode is designed for exactly what you describe here, smoother power delivery and holding shifts closer to redline.

And hardly ever shifting into 8th. But if you hit cruise control, it will without having to turn off Sport.

Hi Ted, I realize it’s been a while, but did this end poison not? Our diesel now has 153K on odo and we have several issues I’m reading about. Oil leaks and diesel fume smell in cabin. Try to decide if it’s worth the fight or time to dump this truck. We love our diesel Cayenne, but not if it’s going to start costing a lot of money to keep it maintained.

Won't matter for you, you're outside of any warranty coverage at 153k miles. I'd expect it to start costing you some money at this point, so only you can decide if you want to keep it or not.

I have a 2013 and a 2014 diesel. Warranty expires:
2013 151K or 6/18/24. I had the diesel fix for this as late as possible.
2014 120K or 9/16/24. This was purchased with the fix already in place.

the dealer will tell you if you are still covered.
