Many of you will know that there is a rather long thread on towing with VAG vehicles on the Airstream forum. You might also be familiar with Andy Thompson of CanAm in Canada who does the hitch reinforcements. Well it seems Andy had enough of folks telling SUV owners that towing with their rigs is unsafe. Longer wheel base are inherently safer as they offer improved stability. Does that mean it’s unsafe to tow with a Cayenne, no.
Stay below the tow capacity and ensure tongue weight is around 10% of the towed load. Proper tongue weight is the most import thing. Also, slow down, 65-70 should be your max travel speed
