Cayenne Coding - The Ultimate Guide & Discussion

I'll try (please don't hold me responsible if this messes up your Porsche)
Bold entry is a menu choice
Italicsis your input.
To activate your boost gauge:
Local Diagnose >
System Selection >
Instrument Cluster >
Code/brush Hiding >
Brush Hidden/Modified >
Search for Coding Items >
Enter: “boost“
Select: Board computer menu configuration- Board computer menu configuration byte 0–Boost pressure >
Toggle to: “Active”
Write Code
To change the range of boost pressure gauge:
Extended codings— maximum boost pressure for turbo >
Enter coding value desired (initial value 1.2 for Cayenne Diesel)
Write Code
To add accelerometers, steps as above up to:
Search for Coding Items
Enter “acceleration”
Board computer menu configuration –-board computer configuration byte 5–lateral acceleration
Toggle to "Active"
Board computer menu configuration –-board computer configuration byte 5–acceleration
Toggle to "Active"
(I believe at this point you must click "Write Code" also)
I may have missed some details here, so forgive me.
This is how I think I did it.
Not a recommendation that you do it.
In fact, don't do as I did

Probably this function depends on PCM version? I have 3.43 which I believe is final for my hardware. If your acceleration works in MFD could you guys mention your PCMs versions?

Hi, I am new to the Porsche world and recently purchased a 2015 CD. After reading through this thread on what tool to buy to code the vehicle, I was looking at the Launch X431 Diagun V but this new Launch scanner also came up. . Has anyone tried this and know if it was also allow you to code the ecu, reading the description. It seems like it will perform the same functions as the other Launch X431 scanners.

Yes, it's bidirectional. Also interesting that it purports to support DOIT in addition to CANBus. Would be interesting if it notified you which modules are CAN and which are DOIT.

Since I started reading this thread about two years ago, my X431 V has expired. Has anyone found a good source for a subscription renewal?

The next question is.... do you really need to update? The tool can do all the same functions without subscription. The updates are more so for newer year vehicles. If yours is getting older, things aren't changing in it.

I think there was a site I bumped into a year ago that had renewal. Also, you can renew right on the x431 tool.

It just found it so my question is moot.
I'm a computer guy. keeping things updated is just a force of habit.
I assumed maybe more features could be introduced.

Will you let us know if new features are introduced?

Same, I think it sometimes leads to trouble. I always have to stop myself and check the interwebs for known bugs before updating. Even letting a week go by before "push button"

I've got both, but really think about what you said... you got a piwis close that does not get any updates what so ever. That's the same thing as the launch. Except you can only do P cars and you need a laptop, a bunch of wires and a strange bridge box (vca)
