Shockingly bad fuel mileage in '16 CD after recall
My dealer did a recall a month ago ("replace heating element...") - ever since, the vehicle has been getting fuel mileage in the 18-19mpg range. This is easily 8-10 less than normal. I'll take it in next week, but was wondering if anyone else had seen something similar.
Thanks

Add your favorite diesel additive. Properly inflate tires. Put a nice wax on it to make it slippery thru the wind. And go for a LONG drive.
The computer will keep adjusting to highway driving and you will be in the 30 MPG range in no time.

I had the AdBlue heater recall repair done at least a year ago. No issues with mileage. Recent 600 km road trip at 120 km/h, was marvelling at the fuel economy 7.2 l/100 km about 39 miles per imperial gallon.
I am prefix. Going in under the wire next Monday for the diesel fix (2013 CD). Cross fingers re. drivability, mileage afterwards! Our dealer said he hasn't heard any feedback for post fix clients. $8k cheque will be nice. Also by the wording in the fix PDF, I'll get warranty for applicable components 4 years post fix date , which will take me to 9 months past my 10 year ownership mark !

Definitely something wrong there.
Post fix it'll go down some, but within the range they say. That's even in my '15. The adblue recall shouldn't have any impact at all on your mpg; something is very wrong if you're getting gasser mileage!
I just completed a long trip (WA to CO and back; ~250 pounds of gear, 2 bikes on a hitch rack and 2 people in the vehicle) and at ~80, I was in the high 20s, maybe 30. At 90+ on the open road, still 25-27ish.
