Panamera 4S, simply incredible.

I now know why the Panamera 4S is so dear, because it is a pretty incredible piece of machinery.

Back in 2009, I had a G8 GT. 6.0L V8 RWD 6-SP Auto 400/400, it was a decently quick sedan and did most everything pretty well for what was close to a 5,000 lb 4 door.

The 4S is a revelation to me as the 0-60 in 4.3 and 1/4 in 12.0 and a top speed of 179 mph are all amazing, and all in a sedan.

I can now think 'If I don't need to tow anything but need a backseat to bring a couple of people along-my kids, I'd strongly consider one. The vehicle has thoroughly impressed me.

You're about 1,000lbs off on the G8 Gt, but if the panamera wasn't so ugly, it would be a hell of a decent car.

You are right about the G8 GT, I was thinking of my 2012 Touareg TDI.

That the 4S is heavier, but faster=wow, just wow.

I think that the current Gen, is a lot easier on the eyes than the previous Gen(s), like the Cayenne, I can't take the pre-2015's/.

I had to grow to like the way the 2016 looks after I had first gotten it as I was not a fan at first.

I share your feelings. Got a service loaner, I take it?

I've said it several times: If I didn't need to tow... I'd be in a Pana. The new 4S is damned quick and a lot of fun, would be a killer daily driver.

Yes, service loaner.

I'm with you 100%. If I didn't need to tow, the 4S is incredible. I get out of work at 5pm and am so looking forward to the drive home and then some more driving after dinner.

If you haven’t tried launch control yet..... do it :)

And yes - I know that feeling as well.

I generally don't want to give the loaner back when I get one. I was fortunate to have one (actually a 4 eHybrid that time) for a few days last fall when I had an issue with the AdBlue tank level sensor. Loved it. Loved the multi-color interior LED mood lighting too.

I like them enough I've even pondered a 1st gen Pana - which I think are butt ugly - but damn they drive so good. Can find first gen Turbo S's for reasonable money....

I had the opportunity to fling one around the track at Summit Point. Along with a ride-along driven by the Porsche instructors with four occupants being big guys. The thing handled being hammered around the course REALLY well for a fully-loaded sedan. And without feeling like we were being tossed around.

The newest body style is more appealing than previous years. Shame the Sport Tourismo is so pricey.

I've enough situations where the Cayenne does a better job for me. Nice to have a wide range of choices though!

I had a service loaner a month or 2 back, they gave me a brand new loaded 4S. I told the guy I knew what game he was up to, trying to get me to drop more $$$. If I didn't need to cart around the occasional 5 of us at the same time, I might have one. Then I saw that the Sport Turismo has a small 5th seat option. Of course, wife and kids all loved the 4S too.

I hear ya with regards to that! When my CTT was at the dealer for an extended period of time waiting on parts from Germany, the dealer gave me a brand new Macan GTS as a loaner, had it a month......guess what I own now?! ;)

LOL!

Whenever my wife's first Boxster was in for service (first few weeks we owned it, it was in for service a lot... re-doing a botched clearbra install, door panel problems, etc) I was given a new Cayenne for a loaner... and a few times, a Cayenne Diesel. It was enough to convince me I'd be better off with a Cayenne over my full-size GMC truck so a few months later... I traded my GMC in on my first Cayenne Diesel.

Over the years, various service appointments... I've been in a lot of Macan service loaners.

Had them enough, my wife really liked them after getting to spend some time with them... and we bought a Macan this past winter.

We joke... but I tell ya... they know EXACTLY what they're doing there. ;)
