Light shudder when turning while parking
Has anyone felt a shudder in the steering wheel when parking, basically when the car is not moving and just turning the wheel. Are the tires too wide and create too much resistance? Kind of weird, no?

My '06 C did that.. it was a combination of compliance in the suspension and the sticky tires. What size tires are you running and what model Cayenne? My '11 CTT hasn't done it yet. On the '06 it never made any difference so I basically ignored it.

I just had this same conversation with my service advisor last week while in for a different issue. My GTS runs on 21's and his explanation was that based on the angle of the wheels when fully turned to one side, combined with the extra width of the tires, one of the tires can essentially slide it drag sideways under some conditions, as opposed to rolling like normal. This created a slight shudder in the steering wheel as you can imagine. I've experienced it a couple of times.

I love how this thing drives, I was about to pull the trigger on an X5M, but the wife liked the Cayenne better. Quite frankly the M has a much harsher ride, but. Mechanical issues at 6k miles. Really?

i don’t know how Porsche can be ranked so high in reliability. I hope is not an omen of things to come.

Side note: Coming from an X5, we are amazed by the much tighter turning circle radius of the Porsche vs the BMW. The BMW was tank-like in comparison. Thankful!
