2013 Cayenne 3 l Diesel RMS replacement
We need some advise on the procedure in replacing the Rear Main Seal on this Vehicle.
It looks as if you have to drop the engine,Transmission and front suspension in order to get to the seal? Or can you do it from below by only dropping the Gearbox and Transfer Case? Regards Schalk |
I looked at AllData, you have to remove the transmission. There were some 2013/2014 cars that had improperly sealed timing chain covers ( at rear of engine ) from the factory that might be the cause. Do you have any warranty left?

It really needs some more investigation. Regards |
Do you have oil on bell housing? Ivesrtigate the top of the motor. Back side. Search for threads on timing cam seals. Likely that. Known issue. And it’s a huge job to fix it. |
It might be worth it to see if PCNA will do anything for you.

Would this not be covered under the diesel warranty?

Thanks for help so far.
Going to Porsche in Cape Town tomorrow to see what they can offer. Perhaps nothing!! But will at least try. Regarsd |
This oil leak is not part of the emission settlement. The OP is in South Africa. It was a manufacturing defect that causes the timing cover(s) to leak.
