Is this expensive for an oil change?
If this is the price to play, I get it. I am having an oil change on Saturday. I have 26,000 miles on my 2015. Price for the oil change is $527.00 Is this the norm?

Oil change kits are about $83 for everything one might need here:

You are paying for the labor and the loaner if you are dropping off and not waiting. Talk about the Porsche tax.
$527 every 5,000 miles. Eek!

It helps to not think of it as an oil change, but more of a maintenance. I'd ask for a breakdown, but the maintenance intervals cover a lot more than a simple jiffy lube job. Wait until you do one of the major maintenance cycles. $$$$

I was at Porsche dealer today and the price quoted me was $551, that included oil, filter, crush rings, o-ring, cleaning cowl drains, sunroof drains and gas door drain as well as topping off any fluids. I do it myself but as said above it us more than the oil and filter. I did enjoy a double shot mocha and scone thougha

I'm not even getting a loaner! I'm getting it done Saturday....wife is picking me up and bringing me back to pick it up. That coffee better be good. It's a small dealer, so I don't want to hang out until it's done. Maybe it's the paper floor mats with the Porsche crest on them. The CD is running great, so I just hope for the money it comes back runing just as well as it is now.....no rattles, smooth, etc.
I should ask for a "no wash" credit. I never let them wash my car. I prefer to do that myself.

A Mityvac machine costs $103 on Amazon
Oil costs - $80
Filter - $20
Warm the motor up and suck it out of the filler tube. Replace the oil filter which is on top of the motor.
Time spent - 25 minutes
Money saved - $300

I'm not advocating for a dealer - those prices are plenty. Just keep in mind that a diy oil change is not equal to a dealer service. This is a major reason I wouldn't buy a used Cayenne without a full service history.

I paid the equivalent of USD 550 at my local official Porsche service centre yesterday. 2012 CD. About half of the cost is oil, filter and other small stuff, the rest of it labour and PIWIS reset of the oil change counter.

The answer to the question is; Yes, it is expensive for an oil change and whatever else they feel they need to do along with the oil change.

Maybe just me but I could not afford to maintain my porsches at the dealer. As CHSU said, its an easy job (drain cleaning included) that costs less than $100 from a diy perspective, plus no hassle of going, having the wife pick you up and drop you off. I would never, repeat, never, pay $527 for an oil change.

In this scenario - clogged cowl drains allow water infiltration into the passenger side footwell causing an assortment of electrical gremlins. Cost - frustration causes a premature trade up and loss of $30k in depreciation.

Cleaning the drains takes like 45 minutes. Do that while the oil is draining or being sucked into the mityvac.

I do know that for many who don't have a garage or a place to do it, medical/physical limitations-whatever the case, where they have to take it somewhere, but no way would I go to the dealer to have it done and get my money sucked out of my pocket. Skinflint.USA.com=me.
Someday I will be too old to do the crap I do now, swapping my wheels for winter wheels, oil changes, but till then . . .
