Default Cayenne Diesel Updated Engine Drain plug

I learned today that Porsche has updated the engine drain plug for the Cayenne Diesel from a 6 mm hex to a T45 for loosening & tightening. The new part number is P/N N-911-679-01. They also updated to a different sealing ring P/N N-013-849-8. On my last oil change the 6 mm drain hex stripped so I had to gently chisel it to get it to turn. The parts guy at our local dealership said the techs have had issues with the old design drain plugs leaking or stripping.

So far no issues with mine. If I remember I'll replace it with the updated part at the next change tho...

Hopefully the massive leak which just started on mine is due to the oil plug only.....

I was a dummy and did not tighten the oil drain bolt even near tight enough and had caused myself a slow leak at the drain bolt.

I got two of the new Torx-head genuine Porsche, upgraded/updated oil drain bolts and then got 5 of the new/updated oil drain plug washers which are now square and not a rounded aluminum crush-type washer.

I should be back in business and not have to deal with the spots on the floor of my garage.

I just did an oil change on my CD today and I guess used the old p/n with a 6mm? (torqued 23 lbs ft, new plug & washer)

how many DYIs have actually use the new p/n T45?
I did not even know this was a thing till I saw this post

If your plug is not leaking, I'd not worry about it at all and change to the new plug/washer.

I just didn't tighten my plug down enough-out of a constant fear of possibly stripping the threads, even though in all my decades of doing oil changes have never come close-but I just didn't tighten the drain bolt tight enough and had allowed the oil to leak out very slowly.

Now with a new/upgraded plug and washer, I should be even better about having no leaks, provided I tighten the bolt the right amount.
