2013 Cayenne lacking all soul
I was on the PCA website looking at some cars for sale and I came across this photo of a 2013 Cayenne, it just looks like a crappy Kia.. What happened?

It's the opposite. Cheap cars like the Kia eventually take styling cues from higher end vehicles.
Look at a Crosstour and tell me Honda didn't rip off the Panamera styling.

Porsche hired an Asian designer from Hong Kong, for the 958 Cayennes. Gone are the bold, masculine, beefy lines of the 955/957.... replaced with an Audi-esque interior and "feminized" silhouette. Porsche should have had Steve Burkett(original 955 designer) or Matthias Kulla design the 958.

The chief designer of the new Cayenne is Mitja Borkert, a looks-even-younger-than-he-is native of East Germany who couldn’t believe his good luck when The Wall fell. His childhood dream of becoming a car designer wasn’t going to happen otherwise because they already had the Trabant in East Germany, and why would you need to design anything else?
Borkert noted that the new car had to look lighter because it was lighter.
“It also had to look more like a Porsche,” he said. “The hood shape, headlights, broad shoulders, the way the front fenders rise up above the hood, the large front air intakes, were all intended to make it look more like a member of the family.”
Stephen Murkett, who did the original Cayenne, had many of the same goals as Borkert did for the remake. It must have been a bit tricky for Borkert who still works alongside Murkett in Porsche’s design studio to tinker with his creation.

One of the main criticisms of the previous Cayenne was its blob-like shape, which looked a bit like an eroded brick. For Cayenne No. 2, chief designer Michael Mauer and his team devised more subtle air intakes underneath the front bumper and a more sculpted hood that has cut-lines like the iconic 911’s. The liftgate slopes more now, giving a lighter appearance at the back. While they were at it, the Porsche designers put together an interior that’s similar to the spectacular Panamera’s.
958 envy is really an ugly thing to see..

And at this point, I see no reason not to close it. The conclusions are - most 958 people (even ones who previously owned 955 or 957's) think the 958 styling is great. Some 955/957 people think so too, and are waiting for the used prices to drop into their comfort range so they can get a 958. Others seem envious - and make posts like the one that started this. And I'm sure there are a few people who really mean it when they express love and desire for the 955/957 body style.
