10K Service Cost
I’m curious if I’m the only one who is puzzled by service pricing. My ‘17 GTS is approaching 10,000 miles. I called the closest dealer and was quoted $450 (described as oil change, check other fluids and inspect mechanicals on the car). That seemed high so I called another dealer that is less than 100 miles away...they quoted $200.
I’ll admit...since I’ve predominantly been driving 993s for the last decade, I haven’t used dealers much at all. However, it seems odd that there is such variability for essentially the same service.
Thanks much, Rick

The 10k is basically an oil change and an inspection. $450 is insane, borderline criminal, avoid that place like the plague. Which dealer? $200 on the other hand is reasonable IMO. A dealer cant do it much cheaper.

I had my car into Tom Wood recently for the AH08 recall and was shocked at how high their prices had gotten. Spoke with one of the SA's a few days later about a possible alignment and was quoted $550 - up $300 from the last time I'd checked. The SA indicated they'd raised prices across the board as they found out they were quite a bit under the other dealers. I guess if the total intake is higher with fewer customers it all works out. I do miss that about NorCal with 5+ dealerships in close proximity helping to keep the service prices down.

Which Michigan dealer have you found to have the best prices? (Assuming SE Michigan?) Ann Arbor, Fred Lavery, farmington hills, or motor city? Have yet to get my first service.(will do the minor services myself). But would like to know where to head in the future. Thanks!

I would check around. I have not utilized Fred Lavery nor Motor City. Farmington Hills and Ann Arbor both have been good. For most service I prefer Ann Arbor which also seems to have a readily available loaner program. Both are about 45 minutes from my house. Farmington has an in house body shop which I utilized for my undercarriage repairs and subsequent transfer case change. All other items mentioned on these forums for me have been at Ann Arbor. Call Shawn Carr at Farmington or Phil Kaiser at Ann Arbor and check them out for yourself.

Very interesting observations and comments which mimic mine. Mark Winkler at Farmington is one of the best salespersons I know. When I started looking for a used Cayenne (2012 thru 2014 S) I 1st went to A-Arbor (I worked a block away) and was literally blown off and the salesperson basically said you and everyone else are looking as well and seemed flat out uninterested. I have 3 colleagues who bought from Mark at Farmington as well as the new Panamera we bought to benchmark for the company I was working for at the time.
On the service side, A-Arbor and Phil have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. I can't say anything bad about Farmington, but not the same level of service I get from Ann Arbor.

I'm also looking at a 10k service in Chicagoland. What should I expect? I'm booked for the Exchange. I've previously never paid out of pocket for service on her.

Umm...I was just quoted over the phone $1400 (Porsche Westmont, IL) and $825+tax (Porsche Exchange Highland Park, IL) for a 30k mile service on a 2017 Cayenne S. Is this right?
