Added Vorsteiner 103's in 21 inch size and Porsche running boards.
The 19s are the for the winters.
Ride is a little harsher but not nearly as bad as my previous Jeep GC SRT with 20 in run flats. I hated those tires with a passion.

I agree without turning this into an oil thread Castrol is my oil of choice for 3 of my vehicles. Same oil as you for the Porsche & High Mileage Edge for 2 more. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for the Viper and truck.

I agree.. and I am sure there are many other oils that are as good or better.. my 2 wheelers get Motul or Silkolene only

I used castrol syntec/Edge in my '02 Audi A6 from 28K to 138K (8.9 years without an issue) zero oil burning.. even after 13 yrs off age.. Also used it in my Mazda MPV from 24K to 161K (10.4 yrs) and going.. zero oil burning, engine runs like new..

oooops.. did we just make this an Oil thread

I only run Motul and Miller on my cars - I don't touch anything with Castrol or Mobil logo on it. Well, Castrol SRF (racing brake fluid) may be the excaption

I've been using Castrol 10W-60 (Formerly called "TWS" "Ten W Sixty) for my BMW 2 wheeler about forever. This is now labeled "Edge" - if you find the 10W-60 - you'll notice (1) it comes in liter bottles (2) it's made in Austria. It's very good stuff - BMW spec'd it for the S54 engines which were under-bearinged (bearings carrying more power than they should..) BMW also spec'd it for a variant of my motorcycle engine ('12 R1200R - camhead) that was setup for racing. I've considered changing the Cayenne over to it but haven't yet. It can be found at Autozone - but you won't find it on the oil shelves - it's behind the counter. Cost is around $11/liter or so. Doesn't go on sale that I've seen. And this oil can also be found at your friendly Audi dealer's parts department - it's what they use for the RS8 Spyder..

Point being - I wouldn't dismiss Castrol Edge oils - they do seem to be an OK oil. (and no, haven't looked recently at Bob's the Oil Guy website.. but that site can get bogged down in endless debates on oils. Once in a while, you can find a good lab report there, which will tell you much about the oil and the additive package.

Changed my oil Over the weekend with Motul. Changed from the Motul Xcess 5/40 to the Motul XMax 0/40. Supposed to be better, not that I would notice. My pocketbook noticed though.

My workhorse was on tow duty over the weekend. It was my first tow with a CTT and it did not disappoint. The torque makes towing pretty effortless and it still did 15.0 mpg @75mph.

What did I do to my 958 today? Mmm, good question, I added a stable-mate.... bought a 986!

Oh, and a new set of tires for the 958 too. Long story and will detail it on the transfer case thread, but previously reported an ever increasing groaning noise when taking my foot off the throttle. Identified to miss-matched tires and inconsistent wear on them. Who knew they were so susceptible, but importantly getting a new set of boots and my car back in all its glory again. Cant wait.

Oh, and its booked in on the 11th at the local dealer for the variocam bolt recall - booked a temporary car, so fingers crossed its something nice and Porsche (same site and dealer has a Jaguar dealer, which I won't complain about)

Default Murdered out

Thanks Suncoast, and Evolution motorsports! Markers and tail lights tinted, swapped out rear aluminum for black on tailgate, painted the tailpipes, plasti dipped badges red to match calipers.
