What did you do to your 958 today?

Congrats. Make sure not to connect to fuse that runs after car is off. Mine was eating battery power after car was off.

Are you suggesting that the power source should be different from the original OEM setup?

Good catch. I don't like to stack *too* many projects at once...and the vents themselves come out pretty nicely. But...I am concerned about getting the vents apart...may just not do it... I did some playing with a sacrificial vent and it seemed to be a real PITA to get it apart...

...so, the vent comes apart quite nicely. I did two vents, and wasn't at all happy with the first, not really happy with the second. *But* they didn't go back together nicely...seems I need to trim the vinyl a lot more aggressively so it's not in the way. I ended up pulling it off and will try it again some other time...

There's one wire that goes the the side passenger fuse box. I had mine connected to where it shuts off after some time instead of when ignition is turned off. It was draining my battery.

I'm getting power to both the unit and to the processing box. But I'm not getting the screen to show anything, and I've reseated the ribbon cables three times...
Argh!

Now I've had the box apart six times, changed some things around, and still no joy. I'm talking with Nick by email now...

Picked her up from a dent/scratch repair after collecting them for 4 years.
Still looking good for a 10 year old Cayenne S with 122k km on the counter

Oh ok, yeah, they literally just hang out without any locks. First time I changed mine, I was confused as to how to lock. Haha

Ventilation work
Replaced the AC blower motor and cabin filter on my 2011 turbo. Simple easy job. $73 for the blower motor and $8 for the cabin filter. An hour of my time...way cheaper and more satisfying than taking into a shop or the dealer. Headlight seals and rear shade gears next on the list!

I went through it again and now, with original configuration, the system is trying to load an update. I put an audio disk in just to see if that would wake the system up...I think it's confused. Not sure how to get it out of this cycle...update, reboot, update... Can't get the disk out with the eject button. Sigh...
