Anybody running a Malone tune on their diesel?

Found these guys while browsing on TDIClub...

$600 gets you +75 hp and 100lb-ft??

I was eyeballing that also; thought about adding it or the APR tune once winter clears. I know APR doesn't list us specifically, but I read someplace (I think on 6 speed) that they can do it if you send in the ECU. Would be nice to add for towing.

I'm curious about it. Malone has a good reputation on the TDI boards.

Don't want to tune mine until it's out of warranty tho, as tempting as another 100ft lbs would be

Bluespark tuning box out of the UK, that’s what I have on my new 16 CD, it takes 1 minute install plugs into the fuel rail.
thus no messing w the Ecu and voiding warranty. Bring it in to the shop uninstall , no way ever detect and adds similar hp n tq as Malone plus 3-4 mpg.
no brainer
fyi no affiliation just a happy customer

ohhh and want teaser look at the hp n tq increase for the diesel S , I so wish we had them in the US

How long have you been running the bluespark? Any issues?

i had it on my 14 cd since new 120,000 miles no issues just great results and now just put the same unit on my new 16 since trading in the 14

Has your 14 had the fix?

I had a malone tune on my Touareg TDI for 45,000 miles, dpf, add blue and egr delete. Ran like a champ.

Definitely going to keep the emissions in place on the cayenne due to the extended warranty. I would have not a second thought about a Malone stage 1 or 2 tune.

The Blue Spark is definitely an option due to the ability to remove it for warranty work.

I did have it on my 14 after the fix , it shifted smoother and added back 3-4 mpgs was getting 35mpg after the fix on hwy w Bluespark, 30-31 mpg w out it

Yep, as much as I'd love to do the Malone tune, with the cayenne still under warranty for 3.5 years I don't want to jeopardize that.

So the bluespark box seems attractive

Agreed, this is very interesting. From their website it looks like there are different tunes. How do you switch between them?

Very simple takes but a few minutes , use an Allen wrench open the case two seperate changeable things to dial in the tune one has a dial to change 0-9 and diode coupler 1-4
for 280 or 200 euros depending which device you get , in my opinion best bang for your buck upgrade on a CD. No brainer

Thanks for the info! Looks great, but a little bit concerning in that they mention the engine management light. What was your experience setting it up? Really appreciate your experience with this.

I started middle of the road setting bc of that disclaimer for the first week or so then had it on highest setting ever since never once got a CEL

Great to hear. Thanks for sharing. One of these is certainly on my short list.

I have Flashzilla and Malone stage 2 tunes in my possession for testing but wanted to establish a post fix baseline first. Plenty of discussion of Bluespark in multiple threads on here, some good, some bad. Real mpg improvements will only be seen with deletes, which are supported on the platform as well. No tune currently on the market will impact the post fix changes made to DEF consumption, regens or shift patterns.
