Default Fixed the PCM Random Shutdown Issue

For those with the annoying PCM shut down issue, it was an easy fix for my 2011 CS.

At first I thought it was iPhone related, or the phonebook transfer. It would shut down randomly, for seemingly no reason. And it would happen multiple times while driving.

All it needed was an update to the newest PCM software from the dealership.

I'm guessing the software gets corrupt, which causes a crash that's severe enough for it to force reboot.

Either way, 1,000+ miles since and it has never happened again. Hopefully this helps someone out there with this annoying problem.

How bad did they charge you for the update?

Or did you complain about the reboots and they did it for free?

Did it for free while doing the cam bolts fix.

Porsche re-flash PCM is about $100. Main culprits of software corruption leading to hardware failure...is the SiriusXM SAT radio, phone and anything internet-related to the PCM.
