2006 955 S - Major Maintenance, "while I'm in there..." inputs?

About 25% in, top of the engine is mostly off...

- Clean throttle body
- New air filters
- Check coil packs (replaced 50k miles ago)
- New spark plugs
- New valve cover gaskets
- New intake manifold gaskets
- New starter
- New thermostat
- Check coolant pipes (metal installed 70k miles ago, but I seem to have a slight coolant leak/vaporization towards the aft end of the pipes)
- Check water pump
- New camshaft position sensors
- New crankshaft position sensors
- Check upper/lower radiator hoses
- Check coolant hoses in rear of engine
- Check/replace as necessary crankcase breather hoses
- New air/oil separator diaphragm from KLA industries
- Automatic transmission fluid and filter change

I think that pretty much covers my plans over the next 2 weeks. Any inputs for any more "while I'm in there" work, I appreciate your suggestions.

Swap out the plastic vacuum tee on the top at the back for a brass one. They tend to get brittle and crack.

Have a part number by chance?

Might as well put in a new water pump instead of just checking it while you're in that deep. Your water pump is on borrowed time if your Cayenne has over 80,000 miles on it. Mine went out at 90,000. Genuine Porsche water pump is $269.00 at PelicanParts. Aftermarket is $113.00. You're coolant expansion tank will start leaking if it's not already. The part is about $80.00. Makes sense to knock that out while your hands are still dirty. Almost forgot the brake booster vacuum lines. You will most likely have to remove them anyway to go as far as you are going in the engine. Wouldn't hurt to put new ones back on but they're a little pricey for plastic tubes at over $100.00. I've got the "brake booster faulty" warning right now and need to fix it. Those plastic lines get brittle over time and start to leak. Good luck with your maintenance.
