Default 12 MPG

Computer said 14 and that seemed low so...I did two tanks by odometer calculations and got 12 combined both times.
Help/thoughts?

That is what I normally get during the winter.

10 all city
12ish mixed driving
17 highway

It will go up 1 or 2 mpg when the temps get warmer.

Wish my computer said 12 sometime ;-) even when it does, it's likely more 8ish-9ish range.

Can it be recalibrated to show gpm? :-)

The '06 S is not an economy car. Mine at best got 18MPG. I get 21MPG from my '11 CTT under the same conditions. Direct injection, lighter weight, more efficient power management, better transmission all make a difference. And it's awfully nice having an additional 160HP on tap..

My CTT's highest fuel flow reading so far is 39gph. That will likely change in the Spring when I get a few more bits installed and switch over to a race tune!

Man 9MPG? Maybe I should rethink this whole Cayenne as a DD.

Are you doing a lot of city driving? All highway? Got a heavy foot? Yeah, this is not what I would call an effiicient DD. It's a heavy beast.

Here in SF Bay, we've got a lot of rolling terrain and plenty of stop and go. Averaging about 15 mpg city hand calculated mpg, 17 on the highway with our 180K mile '04 CS.

Cold weather really decreases mileage.

Mixed mostly city. Moderate foot, nothing heavy in this weather. Just seems like it could be out of tune?
Running new all season 265 19 tires.

Driving style makes a huge difference with these cars since they don't have the benefits of the lower weight, transmission, and fuel management system of the later versions. I can get 16.5mpg going up and down mountains (to Tahoe), but the minute my wife gets behind the wheel, she can only manage 13-14mpg. I did change my fuel filter, which was leaking, and was able to eek out an additional 1mpg. See the thread on what to do if you smell fuel around the driver side rear wheel well. I bought the special tool, so if you want to borrow/buy it, let me know. Hopefully won't have a need for it going forward!

I averaged 15.9 on 1000 miles from NYC to Milwaukee with a roof box and a fully loaded P!G.

It was depressing....until I stomped the peddle because some civic with exhaust thought he was billy bad ***.
