Would you buy a 2014 Diesel.... now?

My 2016 was leased from PCNA. A guy leased the CD for his wife on 08/2015. The wife thought the Cayenne was too big/large for her. He terminated the lease on 01/31/2017 at a BMW dealership and got her an X1.
All it is now is a used 2016 CD.

Total score for you!
Mind if I ask what they sold it to you for?

Only thing I need to get installed on Monday/Tuesday at my local dealer is the trailer hitch and wiring.

Most are told that OEM roof racks can not be installed later. Reason is that most are not willing to drill the required holes in the roof. Our dealer has installed OEM racks on Cayenne's.
While we ordered ours with racks, we have added several other things to outfit our CD for road rally and Overlanding off-road. With the range and available torque, CDs are truly capable.

Local dealer did the labor for ~$600. I provided the hitch (ordered it from Suncoast, at the dealer's suggestion... they couldn't touch the Suncoast price on the hitch).

Thanks!, I'm beyond thrilled with the CD and to now be a part of this forum. I'm also one who is glad VW did what they did and am buying back my 2012 TDI as well as giving me more $$$ for my 2016, even if I may get less if the former lessee requests their share. The CD is a massive step up from the Treg and I love it.
I realized it didn't have the rails anyway, just the other night.
While I had/have the rails on my 2012 Touareg, in the 41,000 miles and 3 1/2 years I had the truck, never needed them for anything.
My wife has a 2015 Touareg TDI that has the rails but no crossmembers as we've never needed to transport a ladder or anything that we'd need a roof rack.

The Treg pulls it perfectly, every bit as good as the 2004 Tundra I had before. It is going to cost me some $$$ to have it done at the dealer but I just want it done as spring is coming and I can't wait to catch my limit of haddock and 1 cod.

Lease Compensation. Capped at $3000 on previous lease, you get half of that.
I had interpreted/read it incorrectly. I had thought that a person had to be either an owner or lessee on or after 09/18/2015 to be eligible but now I understand that that is not correct.
I don't care if the former lessee gets their share. It would be nice, though, if they don't sign up or register and I get their share. Either way, I'm in the sweetest 2016 CD.

If US Bank, for example, was the lessor, they were the owner.
Owner payout is over 15 K, tax free.
If they transferred ownership to dealer, or you after jan 31 2017, you get 100% of 15K for fix.
If they did it a day prior, you get zero.
If it was a Porsche or VW lease, you and previous leasee split 3000 for fix.
These are clear and simple facts.
Great Truck.
What did you pay?
6 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty is yours.
covers interior trim to, well, you name it.
Powertrain warranty is 10 years or 120 K miles.

So.... Opportunity exists to buy a very low mileage 2014 CD. Price is good and car is truly excellent... 2 dealers have told me there will be no more Cayenne Diesels in US...period. Seems it's a bet on whether the fix will impact performance or mileage.... I'm thinking of taking that bet.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your reply!

The Jan 31 date is inaccurate. You are a member of the class if you:

As for tax free, that's been discussed before. If I recall correctly, if the payments are classified as damages, they're tax free, but if it's compensation, taxable.
Maybe the fixed amount of $39 hundred and change is damages and the rest, based on the NADA value compensation? I don't know... just wondering out loud, so to speak.
I'd guess there's a tax pro out there who can chime back in now that we know the settlement and its structure.

We are looking to replace my wife's MB GL 350 blutech with a CD year 2014-2016.
Looking around, I don't see any / many 'hot deals' and pricing seems to be high.
If we purchase a CD this month / next month, what would our take from the class action be?
All that is mentioned before is not quite clear; seems to be there are a few different interpretations.
As for the fix / possible lack of performance, it would be my wife's DD, haul the kids around. For performance we get into my Panny GTS :-)
In short: if we buy a 2014-2016 pre owned CD, are we entitled to anything in the future?
Does anyone know more about the possible release of current CD inventory from Porsche dealers?

The price for the 14 and 15s are too close to the 16's
If you look at SOLD cars listing on Ebay, it seems that the price people are willing to pay is about 10K shy of what dealers are asking.
