Hi John,

Those are some impressive gains for the 958! I've heard that the ECU is different in the 957s; have you had a chance to sort out those issues to get a tune on the 08-10 CTTs?

I'm looking to keep the stock muffler and tip set up, and upgrade the downpipe/possibly delete cats. I live in CT (an emission state), and am moving to CA next July (an emission **** state), so haven't completely committed to what I'm doing yet. I know for a tune, I am absolutely interested. Do your tunes keep relatively stock power out of sport mode, and progressively increase boost in sport mode?

I appreciate the help. I scared the **** out of myself accelerating from a stop again last night with the brake boost. It makes no sense why the acceleration is this violent, but I love every minute of it.

I actually am doing an old blower set up with a SVI/Vortech V1 kit. Hoping for between 550-600 whp. It's old school (has a water-air intercooler), but having a custom heat exchanger and ice box built for the car. I wanted it to be relatively quiet, and stock looking/sounding at idle.

This is the car for reference:

Any videos of your LS7 swap? I'm sure that thing is a monster!

Thanks for any and all information!

Right about the same gains on the 957TT and we can do those too, and you don't even have to pull your ECU out The tunes are essentially same as stock when off throttle, just a powerhouse when you put your foot down. Couldn't stop laughing when I drove the 958TT the other day, it was ridiculous

If you're moving to CA I wouldn't mess with the primary cats they are a PITA to take in and out. They are good to eliminate for performance and sound, but might not be worth it to you for California. However, ditch the secondary cats they are easy to take on and off for emissions haha.

That's a nice setup on the Vette! Can't wait to see how it turns out, love the cam lope Here is mine, and the LS7 is in progress not yet completed.

Your Camaro is sweet man. That thing is gonna be mean with that LS7.

Yeah California is a nightmare with their emissions. I am not even sure what I'll do when I bring the corvette out there; may have to have a "spare exhaust".
I know there are certain counties in CA that don't require emissions, so I'm going to try to end up in one of those.

Nice!!! Congrats!! I'm loving mine as well. Do you have PDCC? Window sticker?

I have a great tuner if you want his info. He's been tuning Porsches's for almost 20 years. He's building one for me now. His last 2015 Turbo he did gained 100hp and 141tq...

Can't wait!!

Are there downpipes for my 958.2?

I'd definitely recommend grabbing a spare exhaust for the vette. They are a dime a dozen on ls1tech classifieds haha.

If you find a county in CA that doesn't require emissions let me know! Thats the first I heard of it.

Phil that Cayenne was a monster, and i've been bugging Steve near every time I see him on when he is going to have the 958.2 done. Should be soon!

I'm sorry to say there are not, the 958.1/.2 is quite labor intensive to remove and replace them. The R&D expense was determined not to be worth developing the product due to the minimal market interest in the Cayenne downpipes we have developed previously.

Btw that GT3RS we had in picked up 40whp with the race headers, valved side muffler bypass pipes, and Steve's tuning

Did you ever get to the bottom of your oil burning issue? I also have a new to me 08CTT and it is burning almost a litre per tank of gas (approx.450 km's). It has only 112000 km's and runs fine except for the plumes of smoke when I hit the gas or reaccelerate after getting off the gas.

I have spent thousands trying to diagnose and fix the issue without success. Shop says maybe broken turbo ..... but engine must be dropped to replace and total cost would be approx. $6000. I will not spend this on a 'maybe'.

HELP!!!

Hey RoyM01. It just stopped on its own! I'm not sure why you're burning so much oil! What kinds of things have you done to diagnose it? With all of that smoke, wouldn't be surprised if a gasket was going out (head gasket, alternator gasket) or something of that sort.
Of course, could be the turbos, but doesn't sound like a cheap fix. Sorry to hear about your woes!
May want to try a different shop or get a second opinion on a quote to look at/replace engine gaskets if that hasn't already been done.

I was able to get some video of me launching the car in the 3 different modes, and a launch while brake boosting. SO much more aggressive. I will try to upload everything tonight!
Hope everyone is having a good day!

John, how much faster is the tuned CTT vs the stock tune?

This is the car's launch now. Any videos of a before and after?

It is a night and day difference. I went out for a ride in it and I literally could not stop laughing, it was just ridiculous haha. We don't have a Vbox to measure increases in acceleration, and unfortunately we didn't have enough time with the car to get a video to do a launch comparison like in your video.

However, take a look at this dyno graph from the 958.1TT...maximum gains of 98whp/140wtq takes place at 3700rpm, and i'm told the graph on the 957 equivalent Cayenne TT will look near identical. The improvement in acceleration is going to knock your socks off lol.

I have been watching this thread as well....

Questions: Are the gains for a GenI Turbo approx the same as a Gen II ... I have a 2004 CTT, rear cats bypassed and am running a Tubi Exhaust and EVOMS Diverter valves, other than that stock.

What is the cost for flash for mine and what are the expected gains?

Thanks

Not quite, the 955 TT doesn't have quite the drivetrain as the later generations. We'd put maximum gains in the curve at about 70hp/90tq, and our 955 TT tune goes for $1095

Well, once I'm all tuned up, I'll have plenty of comparison videos to show! Stay tuned people.
