First time owner/poster, but I have been reading these forums for about a month! Picked up an 08 GTS at a dealer auction, and I knew 100% it was going to have Hammering Midget Syndrome. Also missing all 4 jack point caps Onto that another day.
Tldr; get 5/8" HEATER hose and not 5/8" COOLANT hose.
I did the Jimi fix today. After reading and watching how it went for everyone else, I figured I could do this. Went to NAPA, got the good zip ties, and asked for 1.5' of the 5/8 "heater hose". Got home, read the manual on how to actually jack up this car. Realized my jack stands were not up to par.. so off to the brother in law's for some good jack stands.
There's your problem right there
Get home, get everything ready to go. I show my wife the "Porsche Part" and she literally thought I was mad. Back under the car, noticed that my bracket didn't need a whole lot of scraping, as there was no rubber left really to speak of (see picture). Labor for a bit under the underside of my new car, and get completely stuck on "slide the new rubber parts into the bracket." I recited every single swear word known to me, and decided to take a beer break. After 2 beers, realized that my hose sure looked "thick" compared to the other pictures. At this point I stopped taking pictures because I was super frustrated.
Sent my wife to autozone, since 2 beers you know. Came back with 1.5' of actual heater hose. Much more pliable, and not as thick. Rebuilt the new Jimi Hanger Experience, got back under the Cayenne, and amazing it went on instantly, with no real fight. Replace the plate, bolt everything down, roll out to the country road and Hello Porsche V8 so nice to meet you. I will be updating pics of the outside after I get it washed and presentable. Look forward to sharing with everyone

Welcome and congratulations! Yeah, Early Cayennes are so cheap and still have so much value that it's hard not to buy one.

So, no movement after about 400 miles of highway driving. I heard a little knocking starting at about 375. Got under today and took this picture to make sure nothing had moved. Grabbed the drive shaft and could move it up and down. Turns out a couple of the bolts were loose. Tightened everything up, no more movment, no more noise.

At 110,000 miles, my 2006 Cayenne finally needs the Jimmy fix. I read all you guys posts and did the Jimmy fix in about 2 hours. No more vibration. Thanks guys!
I do notice a slight "knock" sound whenever I release the gas peddle. I think our Jimmy fix does not provide enough flexibility to the drive shaft.

Did you check the bearing for smooth/free play? I didn't have the knocking sound but had a solid vibration that the bearing was transmitting through the firmer hose suspension vs. the pillow baffle.
