'06 CTTS Spark Plugs?
 

I hate ask this as it's almost like oil, in which people see as religion.

But...

Beru/Bosch plugs are $100 a set, NGK's are $24 a set.

Am I getting what I'm paying for here or is it the Beru/Bosch name? It's not like NGK's aren't a known brand....

I remember seeing this answered somewhere before. IIRC there is a large difference in quality, mostly to do with longevity. I think the beru/bosch last about 4x longer before symptoms appear???

My 06 CTTS runs strong on NGKs from ECS Tuning. Can't speak to longevity yet.

I use NGK's in all of my machines and they have served me well over the years. There is nothing significantly different going on with the ignition system or in the combustion chamber of a cayenne turbo cylinder compared to say that of a boosted LS1... it probably burns 5x more oil than the american v8 does, though, LOL. Not burning more than 2 strokes, though and from yard equipment to bikes to boats to aircraft applications operating at 150hp per liter of displacement they have worked well for me. Most experienced hotrodders I know think fondly of them as well.

I've used NGK and Bosch in the past without issue in other Turbo cars. But, given the hassle to get to the plugs, and the fact that our CTT is now our only car, I didn't want to chance it with something else. Not so much that it wouldn't work right, but that it might not work as well as the Beru's once we get to the 40K mile mark. A hundreds bucks spent to not worry about whether my plug choice was good seemed like money well spent.

FWIW - my plugs are way overdue. I've had them sitting here awhile, but just haven't had the time to do it. Got an appt with the shop because they're 25K miles overdue. Car runs fine, maybe a bit rough at high altitude on a cold start, but runs fine down here.
