Drain cleaning - making a writeup and need input.

Water drains seem to cause all sorts of random issues on these cars, so it seems like good preventative maintenance to clean them. Especially if you routinely park outside. I was going to do a writeup and am looking for input on who's done this, what worked, what didn't, etc. I know there are 4 roof drains, one for the HVAC system, and I believe there are a few forward of the firewall. I've seen two on the bottom of the hatch, I believe.

As far as the drains in the front wheel wells, the best way to clean them out is to pull off the wheel well liners. I know it is a gigantic PITA to put them back on but when you have them off the drains and goofy grommet-things are easy to see, approximately at the 2:00 position towards the middle of the car.
I don't park outside at night, but during the day at work is enough I've needed to clean them out about 1 per year. Seems like they'll hold about a gallon on each side when plugged up.

I'll be looking for your write-up regarding the AC and roof drains as I've not yet needed to do them.

I clear the AC drain a few times a year. Once at the end of winter and again at the end of fall.

I've even made a "special" tool for it. I unwound a coat hanger, squeezed the hook part together then wrapped it in duct tape.

Perfect size to run through the drain hole and you can hear it smack the belly pan when you're completely through the drain...
