Default Sudden issues with PCM, headlights and tons of codes

Recently we have started having several sudden issues.

We are getting headlight messages on startup and the pcm is blinking on and off.

1117 Load sensor, generator terminal DF
0978 Left dipped headlamp (this is the one of the messages i am getting on the car display)
1748 tiptronic switch on steering wheel up
1749 tiptronic switch on steering wheel down
0466 steering column switch (with electronic unit)

0776 vehicle level sensor front left
0778 steering angle sensor

I'd start looking under the passenger side carpeting and see if it's soaked. There is about 2" of insulation under the carpet, plus several very large wiring bundles with random splices in the wiring (when they ran out of wire stringing it in a harness - they spliced in a more wire and continued on.)

That and check your battery voltage. Either one could account for the sheer number of faults you're seeing. The reason to check the wiring bundle under the carpeting is a lot of these appear to be data-bus related communications failure messages - and corroded wiring will do that sort of thing.

Have you tried resetting these (after recording them - the iCarSoft software has the ability to create a downloadable file with the faults stored IIRC..) to see if they reappear?

i have reset all of them and am going to see if anything comes back up.

the most pressing issue at the moment is the radio turning on and off.

i assume it is related to some of the canbus issues.

thanks for the advise about the connections under the seat. ill check them asap.

How old is your battery and was the car sitting for a few days since it was last driven. With these newer Porsches, low battery voltage can trigger a long list of errors that are usually unrelated to one another.

Yeah as above, anytime you get a bunch of unrelated stuff all at once it's usually a dodgy battery. At least that would be a relatively cheap place to start.

Read the title and immediately thought battery. Hopefully that will be the issue. Let us know.

so i have an update.

i replaced the battery yesterday and went ahead and pulled the headlight assemblies. i changed the drivers bulb (nonfunctioning) and it still didnt work.

I was going to switch the ballast/control module and when i removed the drivers side it was full of water. I mean the control module/ballast was literally filled with water.

So i have ordered a new one and will be cleaning the female pin connectors in the headlight assembly as they look crummy.

Recently one of the symptoms was that the windshield wipers quit...
could the connection/control module issue in the headlight assembly affect the windshield wipers?

Did you look at the headlight wiring harness? The insulation will become brittle and fall off and create a short. Also, sounds like a battery issue or a wet wiring bundle under the driver's side carpet.
