Need help deciding on 955 CTTS Wheel size (20-22")
I googled a ton, and didn't find what quite fit my needs, so any advice would be great. Have a 2006 CTTS, and would like to upgrade to Turbo II or Rinspeed wheels. I would like to have 21" or 22" with the thickest rubber I can get. I've seen some 295/40/21 tires, and some 285/40/22 work with a little luck. The problem is that I see gravel roads from time to time, and not sure at 35 sized tire would work. Roads in NC are pretty good, but a pothole does come up every now and then. Does the 40 sized tire protect the wheel that much better than a 35? Should I just buy the 305/35/22 wheels and tires, and just expect damage if I'm not careful? Does anyone offer a warranty if I do damage them?
Thanks a million for the help!

The other reasons people have mentioned are the reasons to go with 20's over 22's.

Choices for 21" tires are limited. 22s are too big IMO. One of the 957 CTTS I drove and 22s and it didn't ride well at all. The one I bought has 21s, which are much better, but I'm also considering a move down to a 20" to have more tire choices, less expensive tire choices, and more sidewall for the proper look on an SUV and better ride. If I had 22s, I'd definitely be changing them. With the 21s I'm not in a real hurry if that tells you anything.
