Default Broken ignition coil retainer bolt

I'm the proud new owner of a 2006 CTTS and new to this incredible forum.

I've been searching online most of the morning and can not find this part. Here is a pic. Its the part by the yellow arrow. Anyone know the part number and where I can order it? I'm hoping pelican will reply soon.

Was changing the coils yesterday and discovered that a previous mechanic broke the coil ignition retaining bolt on cyl 4 most likely when replacing the valve cover gasket. My coil replacement job has now turned into a major project as I now have to extract the broken end of the bolt from the valve cover. I'll get started on that tonight and hope I don't end up having to remove or replace the valve cover. Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks, jay958. Looks like Pelican can get the part. It's good to know that the coil will stay put without the bolt because I sure don't want to pull the valve cover if I can't extract the broken end. By the way the coil is bolted to the valve cover, I thought it would blow out of there the first time I revved the engine without the bolt

I had one break off when i did my coils last year. I was using a torque wrench but it snapped anyway. I have had my fingers crossed ever since but it seems to be holding snug. I'm not looking forward to eventually having to fish the stubbed bolt out.

Oh no. Didn't think they would break that easily. I'll be especially careful when I reinstall the others. Hope I don't find more broken when I get to the other side of the engine.

I had one break off and by the time the reverse drill bits arrived I
simply touched the embedded part with a small screw driver and it
came out by hand.

I could not extract the broken bolt end from the valve cover. I'm just going to leave it alone until I need to remove the valve cover for some reason in the future. You guys were a big help. BTW The new coils, plugs, and torque arm make my truck run smooth like new

Wink

Once the bolt head snaps off there's nothing holding the bolt
shaft in place. I used a tiny flat blade screw driver to start twisting
the broken piece out. Without resorting to a spot of glue, a cut off
Q-tip shaft might give enough grasp to twist it out.

yeah at 80k you can do a valve cover service to replace the seals that way you get your chance to tackle that broken bolt with the valve cover out on the open floor. I am at 41k so maybe another 3 years before i had to do it. who knows by the time if it becomes someone elses problem haha
