Default Cayenne Turbo hood

Merry xmas to everybody!

Simple question about what i experienced. When i am driving our Cayenne S at higher speed on the highway the hood is very "quiet". No vibrations at all.

When i am doing the same with the Turbo i can see that the hood has really a lot of vibrations. The vibrations occur at the end close to the windscreen. Worried if this is usual.

What could it be? Thank you

There's two adjustable pins under the hood in front of radiator area. Try lefty loosey on these to raise a little and will tighten the hood when closed. If no good check your other bolts and other connections on the hood mechanism and ensure all tight. This was true of my 04 CTT

Of course you might just be doing 155mph in the turbo?

+1 on Lionworks suggestion

I've done 145 with no vibrations or abnormalities. Solid as a rock. Your hood should not vibrate even at those high speeds. Sounds like a quick adjustment should do the trick.

Merry Christmas!!

If the movement is at the back of the hood, I'd suspect the hinges first.

Open the hood a few inches, get a good grip on it and try to wiggle it. It shouldn't move.

Thank you everybody for support. I try already a lot. The 2 round adjusting rubber parts i try already. No change. I open the hood and checked all bolts. Everything tight.
But when the hood is open i can wiggle it left and right. Usual?

When I give a side-to-side push on my open hood (back by the windshield), I am able to move it slightly side-to-side, but not a abnormal amount.

Can you measure how much deflection you have, side-to-side, when you push on it?
If you give us that measurement, we / I can compare to mine.

But if it really is vibrating sooo much that you can see while driving, then it sounds to me like the vertical tightness is a miss. Thus I still think Lionworks gave good advise, because if you tighten up the FRONT of the hood (vertically), it will naturally tighten up the rear of the hood (back by the windshield), by pressing it downward.

Did you actually try Lionworks suggestion and raise the pin bumper height & then give it a test? How much did you raise it?

It shouldn't wiggle. At all. There's a bit of flex to it, but only a very small amount.

What is loose that allows it to wiggle?

Are the hinges attached securely to the hood?

Are the hinges attached securely to the body?

Are the hinges themselves solid?

I try everything. All bolts are tight. Must be something else.
I checked the mechanism on my S everything looks similar. The play when you move the hood left and right is almost the same.

On top now i have onother problem. Hood dont close anymore. What a .....

Every day something else:-(

You may have adjusted the rubber stoppers too high if won't close. Check to ensure the latch is able to engage and seat properly.

I would go thru each mechanical connection at the hood and ensure each is seated and tight. In fact loosening and adding some locktite and then retightening each may find the problem. I worry you have a tight bolt by feel but actually not a well seated connection somewhere which is allowing the hood to move around...
