Do you wave?
Waved to a black Cayenne and flashed the driving lights (in a silver 944 turbo) in cary today, no response. We were in a very small, long two lane backroad (Cary NC)...
I'm just wondering if you guys usually wave back, or wave/flash to other Porsche owners?

I do, but those sportscar...
...er...drivers don't wave back.
Read a joke the other day. What's the difference between a Porsche and a cactus? With a cactus, the ***** is on the outside.

It is hard enough to get another 993 driver to wave...I doubt the majority of the Cayenne owners can even recognize another P-Car.
The only waves I get occur when I am in my restored Jeep CJ.

And I thought the joke was with a BMW and a porcupine.

I was driving south on I-85 last Sunday in my Cayenne S. I was towing my 944S2 track car home from the Potomac Region's DE at Virginia International. I passed a guy in a silver 356 Cab. We waived and exchanged big grins. Porsche ownership is one of life's greatest pleasures (next to family, of course)!

The people around here are so lazy that they generally only wave with one finger....I guess it requires too much effort to raise all five.
The wave thing probably has to do with the local Porsche density; an inverse relationship I would think.

The funniest thing is that a Cayenne Turbo is actually faster than a Ford Mustang off the line. It's a strange coincidence that most Ford Mustang owners fall into the category of those that are too lazy to wave all five fingers...

waved at 1 cayenne and 2 boxsters today with no response. Understandable from boxsters but not a cayenne, even though i am a little below his line of site.

I waved "back" to an older 911 who was coming in the opposite side of the road the other day...Other than that, not too many waves although I don't see that many p-cars in my neck of the woods. Bottom line: The world is not as friendly as it used to be. Self-centeredness(not a word but you get my point) and selfishness now rule society these days, unfortunately. It's a sad commentary on mankind.

I got a wave and a flash of headlights the other day from a silver Cayenne. So there are folks out there that are out to save the flash

Well,
this is no doubt flame bait, but I'll say it anyway (feel free to ignore it, too...)
No. I don't wave, flash, swerve, wink, shout, etc. to owners of the same style/brand/shape/color/whatever I happen to be driving at the moment. I happen to have the very good fortune to be able to drive a Boxster. I've also had the fortune to have owned a variety of Porsches and other "odd" cars over the years. They were (and are) cars. Not family members or anything else. Some I've enjoyed more than others. Anyway - my owning one in no way gives me the right to barge into someone elses existence to say "hey, look - I have one too"! Sigh....
