Default Cayenne 8-speed trans--Aisin or ZF?

My general and absolutely unofficial info is that the 8-speed in the current Cayenne is one of the ZF models introduced a few (?) years ago. But I read something--where I know not--to the effect that's it's a Japanese Aisin.

Does anyone KNOW the answer to that? And if so can you point me at its ratios?

The 8 speed is a ZF unit.

Default Believe me, I'm not arguing with you, but...

...I found the source of the Aisin idea...
http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/20...-buying-guide/

"The 8 speed (sic) tiptronic (sic) automatic is made in Japan by Aisin. The gear ratios are listed below (7th and 8th are double overdrive) (*).

...

gear 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 final
ratio 4.97 2.84 1.864 1.437 1.21 1 .825 .686 3.273"

* That's certainly misstated. Seventh gear is overdrive; 8th is the double-overdrive.

I still wonder which it is. hahnmgh63, what's the source of your info?

Has anyone personally seen, say, a transmission case with a brandname on it?

I stand corrected. Through Aisin's website I found that it is the TR-80SD

Yes, TYVM Hahn. Here's more info on this Q7/Toureg/Cayenne Diesel transmission.
