5k oil change - 2014 Cayenne GTS

Can anybody give me an idea as to the rough cost for a 5k oil change on a 2014 Cayenne GTS? I am in the Washington DC area and would like to have a rough idea before I take it in to the dealer. Thanks!

Don't know about the GTS, but all the DC area dealers want obscene amounts for the Diesel OCI. Go to an Indy instead, there are a good number all around the area.

Depending on the dealer, anywhere from $275-$375.

In this area I was quoted 475-625 for a Diesel OCI

lol for an oil change? I need to open a Porsche dealer!

And here I assumed oil changes were included for the first 50K miles like VW. Considering how many mfrs do it, it's pretty shabby on car that can cost $100K+.

Just look at the option list for your answer. Porsche excels in robbing you by pennies to death.

$200 and I ask them to not fill adblue. I do that with $12 jugs from Walmart.

It costs about $50 in oil, filter and O rings to do it yourself.

Is this the Break-in oil change? If not I wouldn't be doing the oil until at least 8K~10K.

i thought first wasn't for 20K?

In '08 Porsche lowered it to 12K then in '09 they lowered it to 10K/1yr. Some think it may have a bit of an affect on many of the earlier 'S' engine failures. A dealer mechanic friend (Porsche certified/trained) said that the engines look much cleaner internally now than a few years ago with the old oil change interval after approx the same mileages. I've never seen an Oil analysis that looked good after 15K?? Anyone have one? Lots of talk about different oils and analysis on 'Bob is the Oil guy' forums. Not all synthetic oils are created the same and just because Porsche recommends one doesn't mean it is the best for our engines, lots comes into play, marketing for one.

the marketing part always confusing to me

sure on a honda...

but on a porsche are customers who spend 100K+ on a car going to balk at a reasonable oil change schedule?

yeah I just do 10k/year...makes it easy to keep track of too.

7.5-8k is my limit between oil changes or 1 year which ever comes first. These are very expensive engines and its cheap insurance. I have helped friends take apart cars that followed the manufactures recommendation and they were nasty inside. I was shocked! All I can say is there is a reason lots of manufactures are now lowering their oil change intervals...
