2006 Cayenne S Titanium Edition trade-in offer at US$ 8’000 !
I decided today to trade-in our 2006 Cayenne S, fully loaded, i.e.: Air Suspension, Panoramic roof, 20” OEM Techno Wheels, (with 3’000 miles Vredestein Ultra Sessanta, 275x40 FR and 315x35 rear tires), duotone sand and black interior with burl wood accents, including shift lever and steering wheel, Front and Rear Park Assist, Bose Surround Sound System, PCM with Navigation, etc...
Half shaft and metal coolant pipes done (under CPO) at around 85’000 miles, new battery ..done last week, all, as well as all the maintenance services, at the same factory dealer (Rector, Burlingame, CA), where we bought the car, brand new in Feb 2007 (single owner).
Today, I was in the way to trade it in (for another Porsche car) at Stevens Creek Porsche (Penske Group !) but, I did back off, as they offered me US$ 8’000 for ours.
The car had all service done, never had any accident, (airbags are all in place since day one), and the car is in excellent shape in and out, but, it is true ..have 109’500 miles on the odometer.
My question for you : Is US$ 8’000 a decent trade-in price for such car ?
Frankly, in my side, I felt that this was insulting.
(To be honest, I was expecting to get much more than that.)

wow thats super insulting!!! i just did a kbb dealer trade in value and it came up to $19,000.
thats why everyone hates dealerships, its especially B.S. since you were planning on purchasing another expensive porsche from them!!!

Try carmax. Sounds like a bs offer but could be low auction value. High miles car they can't cpo and may just auction it.

This is just an observation on my part as I'm in the market for a Cayenne Turbo and it seems once these SUV's hit 100k they are a lot harder to sell. As another poster said try Carmax. However, it does seem everyone is trying to get a turbo since they are priced so close to each other (S, Titanium and Turbo) which means most people who want to sell have to make the asking price attractive.

I have been looking for an 06 around 60k -- Dan87951 nailed it. How was it CPO's if you bought it new?
.... lost a few cars in a house fire two years ago and when the numbers came back I was surprised at the low values .. thankfully, everything was at "agreed value" or it would have been a very unhappy day.
I liked my 06 S ... and with prices so low maybe I should just get a higher mile one -- It's just going to sit at my weekend house.
Keep us posted ..... I have always wanted to drive across country

don't know how this factors in but in November 2013 I was offered $8,000 trade in at a Porsche dealer for a 2004 Turbo all maintenance up to date and performed at that dealer with 180,000 miles.

That sounds like a reasonable trade-in price. You could maybe get half again that in a private sale. It's a buyer's market for early Cayennes.
All the extra goodies don't add much value at this point; all it is is a V8 SUV over 100k miles and with some known (expensive) problems in its DNA. Plus the added issue of the normal stuff that starts wearing out in a high-mileage vehicle.

Just to give you an idea there is a 04 Turbo with 114k miles for $13,200 in my area that has been for sale since August. I have seen other turbo's on Autotrader for months that have between 110-140k miles all priced near 14k to as high as 19k. It's definitely a buyers market once you are over the 100k mark. Why the sale? If I bought it new and maintained it like you had I would keep it until the wheels fall off.

That was easy: When new, I did leased it for 4 years. At the end of this lease, still loving it, I cpo it, and re lease it for 3 years. Then in Feb this year, I bought it out at the end of the second lease. (Title is clear and now, in my hands.)

You should easily get 200k out of that car! If I were you, changing the transmission fluid, differential fluid, and transfer case fluid would be wise if you are in it for the long haul.
