Thanks to all of you. Your messages make me feel a lot better, ..than yesterday, when I drove out of that dealer parking lot !
Yes, the exterior trim is titanium "color" painted, this was part of the "Titanium Edition" package deal.
You can see what is part of the "Tit. Ed." on the lower left part of the window sticker above.

By the way,
Just to be a little “visual” about the “8k animal”, here is how it looks, and how it was seen by the Sales Manager of the Porsche dealer of the area, i.e.: photos of yesterday:

I wouldn't blame the dealer too much. Yes, he undervalued your car by a few thousand dollars. But this isn't the local Chevy dealer where he'll give you KBB for anything you can 'push, pull, or drag to the lot!'. He mostly deals with people who just want their old cars to disappear so they have room for a new car. He's not used to people who are concerned about a couple thousand dollars on the trade-in for a $100k vehicle.
Plus, the market is super-saturated with older SUVs, and most of them have better reputations and lower repair costs than a Cayenne. The dealer doesn't really want to deal with yours.
If you're happy with your P!g, keep it. If you're set on getting a new car, sell it privately. If the dealer has pissed you off past the point of no return, find a new dealer. If you pick up an extra $4k on a private sale, that will pay for a mini-vacation to take a trip out to a dealer you can work with.
If it was me, I'd keep the damn thing. It looks like it's in good shape and it seems like you're happy with it. And if I was going to get a newer model, I'd shop used.

That looks like they skewed the selling prices of the P!G in order to make the "new" car prices look good.. look on NAPA - they don't pull that kind of crappola (Kelly has always been somewhat shady IMHO..)

I've always felt Kelly was very "dealer friendly", look at both trade-in and retail for the same used vehicle and you will usually see a fairly big markup which is great for the dealer.

I did browse Autotrader, and saw a few 06 Tit Ed., some with as much as 106 k miles, ..but not at prices like I have been offered at all !!!
It is true that only good reference prices, are not the one displayed, ..but the one when there is a transaction !

The value of anything is what someone will actually pay for it. To get a handle on real prices for sold vehicles - go search on the same vehicle on Ebay-Autos then go to advanced search and look at "Sold Listings" - you'll see what sold for what $$. That's a good starting point to value a used vehicle.
The Titanium package isn't going to bring much extra, nor will other options.. more or less pennies on the original dollar cost. I just ran the search, and for a 2006 "S" with less than 100k - $15-20k range (the higher value ones have less than 50K miles on them.) For a 2006 S with more than 100k, but less than 125k - it looks like less than $15k (the ones there were sold for "best offer" - but were listed for around $15k - so I'd assume the best offer was less.) And there are very few that sold.

If you don't think you could get at least 12k for that car, then something is wrong. Especially in any of the Northern states. You're looking at 15K+ easy, even with 100k+ Miles!
Don't fall for the dealers BS, or fall into the normal content Porsche crowd. Reminds me of the Duck crowd I ride along with. Most of them think they're getting a "Great" deal when in reality they're being totally screwed.

For $15k I can get a 100k mile turbo. At that price I would pass on the Titanium and go for the Turbo and not have to worry about "scored cylinders" as much either...

8k? This is exactly why I am holding onto my '03 CTT. I have 111k miles and am putting about 8-10k miles on now per year. I anticipate it lasting me another 10 years provided no accidents.
