Considering buying a 2010 GTS
For those that have lived with one of these for several years, anything I should look out for outside of the usual maintenance items?
Thanks in advance!

I've had mine for over 3+ years/70k miles now and it has been a great car and tow vehicle, pretty much trouble free other than a faulty air suspension sensor and an oil leak. Couple of things to consider:
- Tires are expensive for those 21" wheels. Make sure whatever car you buy has reasonably fresh rubber
- Brake Pads and Rotors are expensive. Make sure you have some life left on those as it's an expensive maintenance item
- Regular maintenance is costs no more than for any other Porsche or high value import
- You will need winter tires as the high performance summer tires are useless on snow and ice

Also, as usual with Cayennes, look out for coolant pipe leaks (even the 957s have them), cardan shaft support failure, and valve body problems (hard shifting). Other than that, just normal maintenance and keep an eye out for leaks.

I'm pretty sure the plastic coolant pipes were replaced with the metal ones a couple of years before 2010.

There is also a separate issue with a coolant fitting at the back of the engine which is held in with an epoxy. That epoxy let's loose over time (probably through heat cycling) and the fitting comes out. The fix is jb weld... Not joking. Porsche dealerships have been reportedly doing it. The alternative is to drill and tap through the fitting and the housing it goes into, mexhanically locking it into place. That requires removal of the transmission though. The problem and repair is the same as on 997 GT3 engines. Genius Porsche!
There is a great sticky at 6speed about this.

I have an 08 GTS, great truck. I purchased it this March at 60k, now had about 75k on it. 21" Nokian z suv tires are aboit 925 for a set, cheapest I could find. They are decent enough. The 18s I have for winter ride so much better though.
Coolant pipes on mine are ok, cardan shaft as well. I'll check them again in a few weeks and if ok, hope they last through the winter because my garage isn't heated and I hate working in the cold.
