Adding cpo after purchase?
If you buy a Porsche from a non Porsche dealer but the car is still within factory warranty (6year/xx miles from in service date) are you able to bring it to a Porsche dealer and add a cpo Porsche warranty? I have just enough miles remaining on the factory warranty to get it to a dealer. I may have it towed just to be sure.

Isn't new factory warranty 4 yrs / 50k mi.? Based on your previous posts I'm assuming you mean the CPO is about to expire (6 yr or 100k mi.) and you want to get it re-CPO'd?? I don't know the answer to that and bet if you call 3 dealers you would get 4 different answers. I suspect it would be VERY expensive, they would charge you to bring it up to CPO standards then charge you the CPO warranty costs.

I'll check, I thought the warranty was 6/xx but I am not certain, maybe only certain parts were covered. I haven't been able to confirm if it was a cpo car or not, service departments are close until tomorrow.

He gave you the correct answer. Yes, it is every case - you can transfer a CPO warranty through a Porsche dealership dealership or through private party. If the title passes through any type of other ownership the warranty is void.
In a logical sense why would Porsche offer non-Porsche dealers an extended warranty?

A P-dealer can also certify a car outside the 4yr/ 50k and put just a 2yr 50k mile warranty on a vehicle. Ownership must pass through the dealership and can not be sold as a 3rd party product.
If anyone tells you anything else they are wrong.

Hmmm. So how do you explain my Cayenne which was purchased from a Volvo dealer, yet still has the CPO warranty which I've enthusiastically exercised since its purchase?

That's not exactly what he's saying. He is saying that for the CPO to transfer the car needs to be either purchased through a Porsche dealership or directly from a private party. CPO cannot transfer through a non-Porsche dealership. If your experience is otherwise, I'd suggest you enjoy it. It is certainly not the norm.

Because Porsche didn't know about the Volvo dealership, suggest you keep quiet about it and thank your lucky stars.

Does the owner of the Volvo dealership also operate a Porsche dealership? Its pretty common for one company to own many local dealerships.

I have a question that perhaps can be answered here...
I purchased the CPO 2yr extended warranty from Porsche in 2013 (buyback at end of 4yr lease).
This will expire in 2015.
Is it possible to purchase a further 2yr period? Or is the 6yr total the end of it?
