Oh, one more thing. The Cayenne's air suspension may be able to level the car without the equalization unit, but for the long run, I'd rather have some metal leveling the vehicle, instead of putting the load on the air suspension system...

Tow experience with my 20ft TPD.
The 6" pin to ball distance, makes for a close fit between the ball and the bumper when hooking up. I was very careful not to bump the bumper! So later I made a wood 2"x8"x12" protector with a notch to keep from accidentally backing the trailer into the bumper. It slips over the carrier
just in-case. With the air suspension set at normal height, i had no problems with hooking up. It was steady and didn't sink the back. I have the tongue weight around 400-500 lbs.

Next there is no place to hook up the e-brake wire. A potential candidate would be to install the tow eye and attach to it. I used the receiver for this tow. But a safer solution is needed.

With my 5.5Klb trailer attached I headed to Laguna Seca. The air suspension did not budge. The
drive from my house is somewhat flat with a few minor hills. Good power, kept checking to see if i was still attached!

The hill at Laguna Seca was a challenge, i was still under the break in period. But I downshifted to M1 to get the speed up, shifted around 6.4K and M2 pulled with no problem up the hill. Actually gained speed.

Overall a execellent first tow experience. On the way home we passed a 928 convoy heading down Hwy 1. Quite a lot of tumbs up and looks!

Very Cool I just ordered one too... now what else do we need.. didn't I read something a while back about the Plastic Cap and pin adapter?

Is this it?

Adapter to covert from the 7 pole round plug with round pins on your vehicle down to a flat 4 pole connector.

The 7 to 4 pin was included when I bought the 7 pin unit from westfalia. So see what you get when you have the 7 pin installed in the car.

I just received mine and realized its for a 2" ball with a 1" shank Since I am towing using a 2 5/16 ball with a 1.75 shank, it looks like i can open the plate hole.. Did i miss the one for larger shanks? doh!

Nope, I got the same one. I am going to have to enlarge the hole, strength is not as important as function. I have an oxyacetylene cutting torch should work fine.
