Default Cayenne Turbo vs Turbo S Tuning??

I have a 2004 955 Turbo with EVOMS intake, exhaust, diverters, and reflash. I noticed that the Turbo S does put down a bit more power both with and without the reflash. From everything I read, the only difference between the powerplants are intercoolers? If this is correct, should I be able to either upgrade the intercoolers or add alcohol\water injection, and run the Turbo S reflash?

Thanks!

I think you may be right for the 955, i believe the later 957 also had a different throttle body but the 955 was just a different tune. I have the Factory powerkit and uprated diverters, exhaust and upgraded reflash with only drop in BMC filters, but i'm in the 600hp region.

Yes, the only difference for the power is the Intercoolers and the ECU (more boost in the Software), exact same Intercoolers and ECU as the Powerkit but Porsche chooses to claim 500bhp for the Powerkit and 520bhp for the CTTS.

Thanks for the replys! So, if I go with a good water/meth kit, the EVOMS Turbo S stage 2 tune should work?

It should keep the mixture cool but bigger Intercoolers aren't just about more cooling for the Charge. When running more than designed Boost they can also be about less flow restriction for the higher air flow rate required to make the extra boost.

this is great I want to do it before I upgrade my software

Whats a good source for turbo s intercoolers, is there a specific part number that we need and do they bolt right into the stock location on the regular turbo?

thanks

Yea, for the engine the only part #'s that are different are the Intercoolers and ECU. I looked into this in the past and you can cross reference it with the Powerkit TSB. Powerkit TSB and my CTTS have the exact same ECU part # and Intercoolers. There are many other things that make a Turbo S and a Powerkit (Brakes, Suspension, etc...) but those are the only two items affecting the engine.

If it matters, intercooler piping is also different.

Does anyone know the differences between an '09 Turbo and an '09 Turbo S? What did they do to get to the higher hp and tq numbers? The intake tubes are clearly different and I am wondering if the intercoolers are also different as well as the ECU of course!

Best,
TomF
