Sport Exhaust button

Sport Exhaust button
My new 2014 Cayenne GTS has a Sport Exhaust button, but pushing this button does not turn on or off the Sport Exhaust. The only way I can turn on (or off) the Sport Exhaust is to turn on (or off) the Sport driving mode.
Can someone verify this before I take it in to the dealer ?
Thanks

So you have two buttons, one for driving mode and one for the exhaust?
On our CT (2012) there is one sport button that changes the driving mode and the exhaust sound.

In my Boxster S, there are two buttons, Sport as well as the Sport Exhaust. One can be in Sport and turn off the exhuast. Or, one can turn on the Sport Exhaust without the Sport button on.

On my 2014 cayenne S with PSE I can activate the sport exhaust with the PSE button, regardless of the Sport setting. It is my understanding that the stand alone PSE button was not available prior to the 2014 model. BTW, I just took delivery of the CS today.

For about a week, I could swear that the Sport Exhaust button was working regardless of whether the Sport driving program was on or off.
Now pushing the Sport Exhaust button does nothing.
Stopped by dealer today and they gave me an appointment to bring it in for diagnostics.

This is what happens in my 991.
In sport+ mode (I know cayenne only has sport mode), the car automatically goes into the sport suspension setting. EDIT: however, you can still turn off the sport suspension by pressing the suspension button while staying in sport + mode.
In normal or sport mode, you get to stay in whatever suspension setting you want. The car does not pick for you.
Maybe in a cayenne sport mode, you have to have sport exhaust on?

On the 2014 Cayenne there are two ways to engage PSE: (1) you can engage the sport mode, which changes shift points as well as engaging PSE, or (2) you simply press the exhaust button (which is a separate button located in the button row below the sport button) and the shift points remain in the normal range but the exhaust sound becomes deeper.
You also have the ability to engage sport mode and then disengage PSE, so you have "quiet" sport mode.

just got a Sport exhaust installed in a 2011 porsche cayenne S. the dealership tried putting that button for my car but had no success with it. error lights keeps light up here and there. on top of that the exhaust sound, sound almost the same as the regular exhaust to me.. Do these exhaust break in period? if not i feel like i just pissed away over 4k for the sport exhaust!!!
this is what i like and went for the PSE due to sound from some of these videos.... My PSE is no where close!
this sounds great
this good!
