Sam CS 05

I just swapped to winter tires and noticed this uneven wear on the two front all season tires. The mechanic thinks the car needs an alignment.

These wheels are a size larger (265 60 R18) than OEM wheels so my question is can the uneven wear be due to size difference?

I would think so. That kind of wear only happens to me on the rear tires. My front don't do that. I rotate my rear tires once I get that. My tires size 285/35/22. 05 CTT

When was the last time you had a 4 wheel alignment?

These tires are just over a year old. It seems like you both agree the issue may be related to the alignment and not the larger size of the wheels.

It's been few years (3-4) since the last alignment.

I do mine at least once a year and normally twice (once before putting the winters on and once before putting the summers on)

When one asks the age of the tires, the answer is usually with miles or kms.

Anyway, I agree you need an alignment. That will either fix it or reveal suspension damage.

Exactly you could have some worn bushings or suspension components that need replacing. I remember replacing all of mine because it was seized from our Canadian winter salt.

I think these trucks do tend to wear out front tire shoulders quickly, Audi Qs also. There is a lot of weight on them when cornering.

In avg. I drive about 15k miles/year.

My pepper has 120k mostly HWY miles.

This is the first time I have noticed wear of this kind.

Please don't report me to CPS ( Cayenne Protective Services) for negligence ))

Or it could be simple as adjusting the toe setting, which is the part of alignment job.
