Default Trans Fluid exchange Question

Did you also change the transmission filter?
Is it just inside the pan?
Thanks in advance

Yes, it's just inside the pan. You'll want a new pan gasket too.

You will need:

- Transmission pan gasket
- Transmission filter (yes, it is inside the pan once you pull it out)
- Transmission drain plug gasket
- Transmission fill plug gasket
- Transmission fluid (*)

* - there has been a lot of discussion on this on 6speed... forum. Some took steps to compare the Porsche OEM fluid to the Toyota T-IV transmission fluid. Sent virgin samples to blackstone for chemical analysis of additives. Found out that the two fluids are almost identical (minor variations).

Some started using this fluid in their CTT and I am thinking I will go same direction too (guess just holding off until I get my other parts too). This saves quite a bit of money for the change. Some say that better use OEM, while others say Porsche up charges for everything so if there is evidence that these two liquids are similar, then why not try.
It is your car, so you will have to make the call yourself.
