First year depreciation
What % depreciation off sticker can be expected on a one year old Cayenne with 15,000 miles on it?

Anybody.... ? Need to either pursue this used one or think about ordering a new one. It's a 2013 with 15k miles and a sticker of $79,500. Dealer wants $70,500. That's seems very high to me. What do you think is a fair purchase price? The only thing it's missing (that I would have ordered) is blind spot assist. Hopefully I don't miss it that much. But if the price is right I will buy it. Thanks.

Just bought a '12 with 13k miles. It has the exterior blackout package, the $10,500 Premium Package Plus and the $6000 turbo 21" wheels. Like new condition. 31 months left on factory warranty and I do not plan on purchasing CPO coverage (never used it when I bought it last time). Price was 25% off original sticker.

following that rule of thumb would look like this...
$100k new
$70k - year 1
$52.5k - year 2
$39.4k - year 3
$29.5k - year 4
$22k - year 5
2008 cayennes are NOT going for $20k

KBB says mine has depreciated about 18-22% for an excellent condition 2011, depending on a private sale or trade. What I would actually get is a different story...

20 percent 1st year, 15 percent years 2,3 and 10 percent thereafter. I would not do a 15k mile used one for less than around 20 percent. Bet he would take 3 or 4 grand less to make the deal.

15K miles in less than a year is 25% above average and should be reflected in a considerably lower than avg price. It would help to know if they were easy freeway commuting miles...or a rough "running the kids to hockey and dance practice" miles (My daughter puts 20K miles a yr on that way!). Also demand to see the warranty service records. Trading-in a car quickly can be a sign of a chronic issue.
BTW...KBB pricing is notoriously high. Use the average NADA, Edmunds and KBB.

Thanks for the info. The Cayanne sold last night. The comment about the possible chronic issue does make sense. The bulk of the miles were on a busy highway that is notorious for stop and go bumper to bumper traffic.
